mud
How common is player tutoring in real football? Does anyone have examples of player tutoring in real life?
Welshace
very common.... a club will always look for their youth players to learn from experienced old heads... its a daily occurance how often do we hear that odler players are vital for a team and for the youngsters to learn from them only recently i was reading an interview with cleverley and nick powell, who were looking forward to training and learning from scholes and giggs every day its invaluable
Govnar1
I would like to know that as well. Guess it's extremely rear. I heard about older players providing extra technic training for gifted youngsters and even occasionally giving them tactical tips but never heard about miraculous character transformations under tutoring as in FM. It's very strange to see player tranforming form Boycie into Mother Teresa.
easternhawk2
I know last season, whilst Ryan Tunnicliffe and Scott Wootton were on loan at Peterborough from Man Utd, during an international break they went back and trained at United for a week and I understand Rio Ferdinand offered them both advice on their season etc. Just one example. This season they are both in the united first team squad.
StormenDK
I am sure tutoring happens on a daily basis in most clubs, big and small. I think is it just natural that older, more experienced players help out the young talent with advice or just being an inspiration. Does it happen like in FM? - probably not. But I guess SI feels this is the best way for them to simulate it inside the game they have developed, so you can end up with the result, that would happen i real life. I am pretty sure that even older players benefit from advice from better players in the squad. A few years ago when I was included in my small local club's A-squad at the tender age of 31, I still got advice and help from the more experienced players, even if some of them were actually younger than me. So the tutoring feature is by no means realistic, but neither are many other things in the game ... simply because many things are impossible to simulate like real life. So they simulate it in a way that makes sense in the game.
