Relegated players

So does any1 buy them? Quality players with good stats that just had a bad season?

Newcastle got relegated on my save which brings into play a lot of quality players all of which played badly

Would it be worth signing them and will they perform?

No 1 really worried about there poor season then long as the stats are there ?

Well you might not necessarily want to buy the entire defence of a relegated team :p

But if you're fairly confident in your tactic and there's a player in a relegated team with good attributes who'd fit in with your plans then definitely go for it. Put them in a winning side, get their confidence back up and they'll be fine. And if you're looking at a relegated Newcastle side and they still have Cabaye....get him quick.

PLaying with Wolves and just got promoted. Wigan, West Brom and Reading have been relegated and I've got bids in for about 8 players from those :D James McCarthy looks really good so I hope he chooses me over Newcastle. Also snapped up Stuart Holden after Bolton got relegated to League 1!

I find it an issue if I'm with a promoted side that the players don't seem to recognise this until the season update at which point other teams have come in for them. Scott MUFC, I always sign Cotton, appears that Blackburn release him not matter what at end of 1st season. I am Sheff Weds and he joined me after season 1 with promotion to Championship, doesn't play 1st team but always get decent offers in at end of 1st season from orem sides, around £1.5m, so nice profit for no money!! (Not trying to sign relegated prem players with Weds)

Its about consistency and position. If a midfielder averaged 6.8 in a relegated team he has done fairly well and if previous seasons are 7.0+ then chances are he is a consistent player whose season was dragged down by a poor team. Put him in a better side and I would bet he would do well.

Certainly worth checking the relegated teams. Just because he may have had a bad season (playing in a poor team that got relegated remember) does not mean there isnt good players. Depends what stature player your looking for. Obviously a 5/5 world class player is unlikely (but not unheard of). Sometimes a change of club is exactly what a player needs.

Take Wolves in real life. Even though in real life they have gone for waaaaaaaay over the top transfer fee's players like Matt Jarvis, Steven Fletcher, Michael Kightly etc....have been snapped up by Premier League teams even though Wolves had a horrid season. All good players too.

It's especially worthwhile if a relegated team had one stand-out player carrying the team - big fish in a small pond and all that. It isn't that uncommon; especially as the game goes on, the AI managers often make a lot of terrible signings (getting them relegated) but manage to pick up one gem of a player at an early age who matures over a couple of seasons and ends up a cut above the rest.
