ACN 2015 Final

acnfinal.png

Well the favorites suffered a shock defeat to surprise package Gambia in the quarter finals whilst the holders Tunisa crashed out in extra time. The semis went the way to the favorites so set up for a interesting final in which level at one apiece at half time Senegal than ran a canter in the second half to win their first ever African Cup of Nations.

Top goalscorer was surprisingly Micheal Essien with 7 goals!

Say, we are top of the league, say we are top of the league!

We resumed our season after the winter break in spectacular fashion with our best ever away performance to lowly Bay United. After going behind twice in the game we showed great character to bounce back and equalise. Something we wouldn't have done earlier in the season. After pulling it back twice we eventually took control of the game and scored to late goals to give us a deserved win. More pleasing was the goal by Kaimbi on his debut which takes his hefty price off his shoulders already. Our next game we turned in a abysmal performance to lose to African Warriors for the second time this season and more importantly our home record. With Kaimbi turning in a performance of 5.2 this largely contributed to the performance as we were toothless upfront. The next game saw us up against 3rd from bottom Witbank Spurs, allowing us a great opportunity to bounce back which we dully took. Langerman and Kaimbi in amongst the goals meant we sit top of the table at the end of February. We have 4 away games on the trot in March so this will be a big, big month for our promotion hopes.

Doesn't get any better than this! Predicted to be relegated this season and we currently sit top!

Tight tight baby!

The month started at first in a fantastic way. Two nil up with goals from Kaimbi with 10 minutes to go we looked good for the win but one goal back than the sending off of Langerman saw us cave in under the torrent of pressure in the dying minutes eventually conceding with the last kick of the game :( . Next game away to another lowly side in front of a terrible crowd attendance we took the lead through Sithole who had been recalled back into the team in place of suspended Langerman. However late in the second United FC equalised to grab a point and result in more dropped points for us. The last game of the month was a real title 6 pointer. Away to FC Cape Town the game was as tight as the top of the table is itself. Just as stoppage time was upon us and another draw was looking like the outcome our main CB Sait smashed in a header from a corner to grab a VITAL win in the title race!

In the next month our four games are Zulu (H), RSA Blackburn (A), F.C.A.K (H), MP Black Aces (H) So a big month for the title race! If i could secure play off place with 2 games to go i will be delighted! Our goal difference could be a major factor.
