forzamr_b
I ask because I have a Head of Youth Development and that has become his responsibility and I have no option of picking myself to handle youth development under 'staff responsibiliies'. I would like to be in control of which newgens get youth contracts, so was wondering if this is still possible, before I fire my Head of Youth Development for nothing. Thanks. CityAndColour
Should be able to change it in staff responsibilities.
forzamr_b
I only have 3 options to pick from though.. Youth team manager, DoF, or Head Youth..
AndyPass
I have a question similar to this. I searched the forum and this seemed to be the closest match. My head of youth development keeps making offers for young players. In conjunction with my assistant manager they managed to sign a young winger, even though my formation does not use wingers! I have changed all the staff responsibilities to myself, and the head of youth development is still making offers for players. Now I have amended the responsibilities I'm guessing that in future I'll be able to have the final day? However, is there something blindingly obvious that I am doing wrong? forzamr_b
As long as you've set yourself as the person responsible for finalising 1st team/youth signings, you'll have the option to confirm/cancel any transfers. Can anyone confirm that under staff responsiblities you have the option of setting yourself to be in control of the youth intake? Because I definitely do not get the option. When I fire my Head of Youth, I only get my Dof and Youth manager as possible options. Likewise when i fire my youth manager. I'm going to log a bug report otherwise. forzamr_b
Hmmm.. so seems like SI took it out from FM13? An official response would be greatly appreciated.
I Like Pie
Make sure that all transfer responsibilities is set to manager, because my staff does not sign players like with you..

I Like Pie
Yep. My Assman suggested few and I signed them.
forzamr_b
Yep. My Assman suggested few and I signed them. DO you have a DoF, Head of Youth, or Youth manager? At the moment, I have all three and do not get an option to set youth intake as my responsibility.

But as you see I had a message with youth evaluation and I could sign whoever I want..
forzamr_b
Interesting... I haven't taken control of youth contract renewals. Will do that and see if I can get control of the youth intake. Thanks a lot for your help.
I Like Pie
No problem. Youth contract renewals should do the trick.
forzamr_b
Ok after a quick test (thankfully my youth intake was around the corner in my save), I can confirm that you have to take control of 'finds and makes offers for youth players for the future' in order to be in control of youth intake. Kanukki
I think it is just a bit of ambiguity in the wording of 'brings youth players into the club'. In practice this means he identifies the youth prospects and "brings them in" for evaluation, but the final decision on signing contracts still is taken by the function of whoever has Contract Renewals/Youth Team players (which is also confusing as it is a first contract, not a renewal). Smac
I agree with you Kanukki in your assessment. It would be great if someone logged this as a suggestion in the Bugs forum.
