superposh
I'm managing Havant & Waterlooville in the BSS. I currently have an assistant manager, a fitness coach and two general coaches. Only the assman has a part time contract while the other three work on non contract terms for what I'm assuming is for free. Basically I'm wondering why my board will not allow me to hire a another coach. My goalkeeper has recently made it clear he is unhappy with his training and wants specialised coaching. I managed to agree to get a goalkeeping coach to join on non contract terms but my board blocked the move. Why? We're not going to be paying the guy a wage. I even tried asking the board to increase the number of coaches allowed and they did...... to three. I already have three anyway plus an assman. I'm confused. Can anyone offer any advice?
johnhughthom
It's an arbitary system that SI brought in to stop people abusing the player/coach role. A staff wage budget would be much more logical, and less annoying, than being allowed a certain number of coaches.
superposh
It's not a game breaker for me at the moment but I will be really disappointed if my goalkeeper's morale starts to nose dive and has an adverse affect on his performance. We all know how important morale is and how mentally fragile players are in this game. My second choice keeper is nowhere near as good and it would seem ridiculous to me if I had to bring in another keeper on a wage because my current #1 is too unhappy to play properly due to my board not allowing me to bring in a goalkeeping coach for free.
