musantha
First up, apologies if this had been covered in some other thread/post. I looked around this forum and could not find what I was looking for I am playing FM 13 as Man Utd with 4-2-3-1 Asymmetric formation and I want to know how to analyze the game to see whether I need to tweak around. I am 4 matches into 2012/13 season and have won all 4 and heading into 1st match of Champions league: Norwich (A) - 2-0, QPR (H) - 5-0, Southampton (A) - 2-0, Tottenham (H) - 2-0 I need help in the Match Analysis section (Analysis->Performance). Specifically on how to interpret the 'Average Positions' (what does light green, dark greeen, brown blocks mean? etc), 'Movement' areas. Many thanks in advance -Mugu
lam
What you're asking for requires a lenglthy old reply, which with a mild hangover I am a little reluctant to do right now. There are a ton of things that can be analysed including the heatmaps you refered too. Heat maps are, in my view, fairly easy to do. In your head you need to flip one of them (yours or theirs) and superimpose it on the other. When you do this you can then see where players look like they might be playing in space. Though, the caveat here is that these are AVERAGE positions, so unless you know what this translates into on the field then you still need to marry this up to what you see on the field. Generally speaking, and I mean very generally, you want your players playing in space and you want to stop their dangermen doing the same. If you see that their wingers are starting deep then you may want to push your FB's up so their starting position is a little closer to the Wingers. If their AMC is playing high up the field theny ou may want to drop your DM from DM(S) to ANCHOR(D). If their DM is playing deep and getting lots of the ball then you may want your AMC to MM him. So, you want to create space for yourself and deny it of the opposition.
musantha
Thanks lam. I was out for a while and could not reply back. These are my results so far...doing badly in Champions league - 1 win in 3 games. Standing 1st in Premier league, 9P - 1L - 0D - 8W.
