jonnysnipe
Seems no matter what corner tactic I do I still concede so many goals directly and indirectly from them! Started a new season conceded 8 goals in 4 games 6 of which coming from corners! Sometimes directly and sometimes just indirectly bobbling round after my team is meant to clear it :-/ I have a 4 star rated defence in the prem so dont understand what I'm meant to do! Not to mention I have had def set pieces as my match prep for 2 bleeding years! What's your defence like from corners? Please help!
bbuullddoogg
What’s the height and heading and jumping abilities of your players like?

jonnysnipe
Well my 3 players marking tall players have heading and jumping above 15 and one is 192cm and the other two are 182cm
Earnie is God!
We concede a few from set pieces too. Not too many but during the match my assistant almost always mentions that we need to do some defensive set piece training for future matches. Doesn't make a great deal of sense to me as my defenders are decent and they can jump, head and mark. I've also changed the default settings so that most other players are man marking too. Brick_Tamland
I haven't noticed this being too bad. I set my 2 DC's mark tall players. I set my DL and DR to the respective posts. Then the only player I keep forward is my FC. EVERYONE ELSE I SET TO MAN MARK. Seems to hold up and do well for me.
lam
This is completely subject to the players you have but I tend to opt for a "more men forward" approach, meaning that they will normally have my men forward plus one back. I have two marking tall, two marking small, and two on posts, the rest are forward. ONly use players that are capable of doing a job for you in the defence. If they are not, then set them to edge of box, close corner, forward etc etc.

It also helps your counter attacking options too
BluMoonII
Indeed, if you only have two men set to mark tall players, and the rest just to man mark, there's a good chance that some of your smaller players will be matched up to some of their larger players. Try checking your players set to man mark for the larger guys and add another one or two of them to mark tall players. If everyone's in the box, except the one forward, then you may also be having issues with the ball coming straight back at you. I have two quick attackers staying forward, and one of my creative/agile/passing midfielders on the edge of the area to try to be the first to a clearance and to have passing/counter-attacking options.
