Luizinho
I'm managing Portsmouth in League 1. Now for those of you who don't know Portsmouth at the start of the game are in process of a takeover and it various to how much your new owner adds. I got nothing from mine so I had to rely on free transfer to add recruitments. I've just back to back promotions into the premier league; and I still have a balance of -£1,000,000. However all of a sudden I have been given a transfer budget of £19,000,000??? I am in debt so how does this work? Is it sensible to spend it?
Cougar2010
Well the board are allowing you to spend £19m even though they are currently in debt. However you will get TV money & prize money over the course of the season which will massively increase your income over the season. The board are gambling that this is more than the £19m they will let you spend. You get a message telling you how much TV money you will get around July or you can wait for the first payment and multiply by 12. For prize money you can check the league rules page and you can then judge for yourself how much would be wise to spend.
Welshace
Indeed.. basically... your in the position most clubs are in when they rush up the leagues irl.. It's a question whether to spend big and hope you stay up... or spend wisely and build slow.
Domus Clamantium
Try not to buy any players and keep the wages down, try not to get relegated and then aggressively spend next season based on how finances went the last season
CFish
I find the free transfers in FM13 are really good this year. Alot of youngsters get released who have massive potential. I managed to get Coventry from League one into Premiership practically on free transfers. But I never got given 19m, and I was well into the black. I got given about 7m to spend my first season in the Premiership, but used it all on wages. As youll need the depth.
