PC buying help please

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/342669-Improving-my-FM-performance-advice-need-please?p=8442551#post8442551

I am now thinking of buying a new PC/laptop after the communities help with the above thread. I have a budget of around £300 and the only thing I would use it for except FM is streaming SkyGo and watching Flash websites such as 4OD that do not work on my tablet and phone. Ideally I would like to stream both SkyGo and FM at the same time, my current PC struggles to do this.

Previously I went for a desktop PC due to them being cheaper and can build on them instead of a laptop but this approach has backfired somewhat. Open to either formats.

Any advice would be much appreciated on what PC/laptop you would recommend.

configure your own pc budget 300-800

get 8gb RAM and select without any software and windows

now you have the choice between a I5 3470 for total of £362 or a I3 3240 for £329, i would go with the I5~

in case you have no windows or something, you might want a friend to help you out or something, when you buy a pc with windows on it your budget shrinks next to nothing

Thanks for pointing me to the website. I can get my hands of a copy of windows and software. I also do not need to get a graphics card as I have recently bought a Nvidia 9500GT. Struggling to get it down to 320 if you include the VAT, were you looking at the exc. VAT price?

the i3 is for £329.00 inc VAT the i5 £362.00 inc VAT

Thanks I will have a think. If anyone else has any input other than haunted1234 that'd be nice :)

I may be ballsy and start build my own PC if i am just selecting the bits already. I feel I will lose control and end up spending £££ on bits!
