The current status of the next 'Update'

Okay there has been a few threads created recently with users asking 'when will the next update be out?' which are quickly closed by the moderating team. Now I don't think the moderators are being overzealous - we're not giving an exact date because simply put we don't have one. For each change we have to test it thoroughly to make sure it doesn't have a knock-on elsewhere or change the realism of the match engine statistics. With changes time and testing time, it's extraordinary difficult to put any kind of estimate on the exact time it'll be ready as we're trying to make sure it's as enjoyable, realistic and playable a match engine as we've ever had in FM. However, pretty much since then he's been working hard on making further changes. I'd love to be able to say it'll be out at some point this week or early next week, but honestly it depends on how the latest changes look in the match engine. It could just as easily be another few weeks as it could be a few days. We can't give any kind of estimate. I'd be surprised if there wasn't something out by the time the 'January Transfer' update is out (which looking at previous years is normally around March time) but I can't even guarantee that I'm afraid. So please do give the moderators a break, they're just doing what we've asked them to do.

The update will be released when it's ready. It's, as always, very unlikely we'll be pre-announcing a date as we don't want to get anyone's hopes up only for it to have to be delayed last minute if we find a major issue. So please, try and show as much patience as you can. Thanks.
