diggler75
Hamsik and Modric are both DLPs who supposedly prefer to defend. I find this strange for these very creative players. It seems to be the same for most DLPs. I sometimes wonder whether they should be set to defend even when playing at home against weak opposition. Gazza88
To me a DLP is a defensive midfielder who can pass the ball. He may be good at creating but that doesn't mean he can't defend.

shnen
a dlp is more the xavi/fabregas role, someone who sprays off long passes from deep and keeps everything ticking in my opinion, I agree with the OP
Cougar2010
The biggest misunderstanding in FM is that STs should be on attacking, midfielders on support and defenders on defend. It was a huge mistake by SI to call the three options defend, support and attack IMO.
