A heavy home defeat is treated in the same way, be it a CL semifinal or a meaningless preseason friendly involving amateurs and a Top Club. The game just doesn't "understand" the gulf in class and in expectations. That's more or less the same reason you get press conferences in Welsh 2nd division and get asked about Golden Ball winners and similar stuff...
