Goal of the Month

Recommended Posts

I've been wondering for a long time something that no one seems to talk about: Goal of the Month. Just how does the ME (whether 12 or 13) judge what makes one goal better than another? Clearly it's not all about distance as I've seen a sliding tap-in be voted as a great goal for a World Cup (U20, but still)! I've seen dribbling goals win this award along with long shots, curls, and the occasional "normal strike inside the box", but what are the factors actually involved in weighing the quality of a goal? Not that I ever get the chance to disagree since you don't get to see all the other goals!

Factors that seem to matter (in my game at least) are the distance of the shot, the amount of players passed with a run or the amount of one-touch-passes leading up to it. Those at least are things I keep seeing in which goals get chosen.
