Playing with Bayern in the first season, needed to win the last game to win the league in one of the tightest finishes to a season I've come across. I've been 3rd for 31 games of the season, 32nd game I was 2nd and the penultimate game I was top. Before the game;

1. Bayern - 71pts

2. Schalke - 71pts

3. Dortmund - 70pts

Schalke have to play 16th placed Dusseldorf and I have to play Dortmund away!! I've been shocking away all season, think it was January when I won my first away game in all competitions. Tried the mind games with Klopp, gee'd up all my players, researched Dortmunds tactics and performances (turned out they'd only lost once all season at home, gulp)

Schalke were quickly 2-0 up in their game so I knew I had to match or better it for the title. Dortmund just all over me, held out until just before half time (worst time to concede) and 2 personal mistakes later from Neuer and Lahm and its season over. To go from 1 match away from the title to end up finishing 3rd makes a lot of difference considering I did poor in the German cup and CL, only managed to win the Super cup.

1. Schalke - 74pts

2. Dortmund - 73pts

3. Bayern 71pts

Anyone else had any super close finishes like this? I just found in the Premier League this season it was similar finish to mine, Arsenal, Man Utd and City were still in it at the last game and Arsenal bottled a home game vs Newcastle, City dropped points at home to Swansea and Man Utd ended up winning the league from 3rd!

Thankfully Bayern do not always run away with the league that easily, I seem to remember a fair few final day deciders in Germany & a few times it's involved 3 teams, heading into the final 2 games there were 4 teams in the hunt when Wolfsburg won the title a few years ago.

As for FM I pulled of the final day miracle on FM12, managing Leipzig we went into the final game in 3rd but defeats for the sides ahead of us saw us go top for the first time in the season at just the right time.

I have Llorente and Gomez who've been on fire. I play them as poachers in a 4-1-2-2-1 formation. Gomes played 16 scored 16. Llorente played 12 scored 13. They rotate each game.

Seen in my save 2016-17 season in the premiership 4 teams Man utd,Man city,Chelsea and Liverpool went to the last game to see who would win.

man city lost away to brighton,chelsea lost away to derby, liverpool drew away to reading and Man utd drew at home to stoke.

Man utd would win the prem by a point : Brighton,Derby and Qpr were relegated.

Not quite as exciting as a title decider, but I had a similarly crushing last-day set of results in my last season. Basically, in the French league the top 3 get Champions League places. After 37 games, 3rd and 4th look like this (I'm Sochaux):

3. Sochaux 66pts, +18 GD

4. LOSC 66pts, +13GD

I'm at home to Bordeaux, they are away to Lyon. All I have to do is match their result to make it to the CL. Quite do-able, surely?

So I take the lead in my game through my star striker Sloan Privat (who could reach 30 goals for the season with a hat-trick here), and LOSC fall behind in theirs. Everything is looking rosy. Then everything falls apart - Bordeaux score three times in quick succession, and word comes through that LOSC have taken the lead, 2-1. Stuff doesn't look good. But then Lyon equalise, you beauties! We just need to pull level and Champions League football is ours. Then Privat scores his second of the day with 18 minutes remaining. Surely the stage is set for the fairytale finale to the season? Privat to clinch his hat-trick and the big 30 for the season and take us into Europe's top competition. Well, in classic deflating FM style, the remaining minutes tick by without a single highlight, and just to hammer home the final nail, as the last few seconds of injury time are slipping away we receive word of a LOSC winner. Weep.

Season 2043/2044

1. Chelsea - 90 points

2. Blackpool - 88 points

I had to play the numbers 6 Tottenham in a home match for the final match of the season. Chelsea had to play the numbers 3 Arsenal on an away match. Now, Arsenal had been brilliant all season. If I´d win and Chelsea would draw, I'd win on goals. If they'd lose, I would win on points.

I was up 2-0 after the first half, and Arsenal-Chelsea was 0-0, so I had my hopes up. I was looking at the scores of the game in the match screen.

Last 5 minutes of the game, I had scored another goal and Tottenham clawed one back, score 3-1, but still nothing to worry about.

Then that bloody blip...
