bladesadviser
This may sound very simple, but how can I get the best out of my long throw specialist. I have a left back with a long throw of 20 and he has the flat long throw attribute. I am in the conference and after 25 games I have seen him use it once and we scored. Then never again and to add insult to injury I have lost the last two games 2-1 with the the opponents winner coming from a long throw both times I have tried the following; I have listed him as the no 1 throw taker as I do my corners and free kicks. I have also tried not listing to see if he would take the throw by default I have had the throw type as mixed then tried long with no change I watch in extended highlights and have looked at the stats at the end of the game and he has taken around two or three neither of which I see. Surely at conference level that sort of throw would create havoc from someone with that skill level and it clearly is for my opponents!! Has anyone got any ideas? STFC will rule again
I keep mine on Mixed and he does the odd one but it'd be nice if I could get him to do it all the time, nearly always score from them i've found.
silten
Make sure you have a good header of the ball on the near post to give him a target. I tend to get 2-3 attempts at the near post per match with a long flat throw.
