Jamest001
Is it worthwhile fiddling around with this? Or should I just keep it at default? Does it make much difference? Also what does the thumb icon mean next to certain roles such as deep lying mid?
Declan Barry
It makes a lot of difference, it influences how your player and team plays and what sort of game you/they have. The thumb means their preferred role.
WayneRooneysHaircut
Player roles have a massive impact on the effectiveness of a tactic. The stock tactics work ok, but almost every great tactic has modifications to the default player roles, team instructions, and/or modifying the positioning of the players from the defaults. Look at some of the tactics posted on this site and compare their player roles and positions to the defaults. Its a great way to understand roles, instructions and positioning, as you can see what the creator was trying to achieve for the tactic as a whole, through individual roles/positioning. Remember SI cant have a super tactic as a default, otherwise theyd be solving the puzzle for you before a single goal was scored!
