gc_gaz
Well ill start by saying, for pure gamplay time, addiction and overall last ability CM99-00. I remember arguing with my brother to get some time on the family PC and being glued to it! Still kinda miss the old 'text' commentary days, and pressing the spacebar to speed up the game too! Trying to sign Henry and Trezuguet from Monaco was always a good battle in the early days! One things for sure, my addiction has never waned and probably never will :-)
VonBlade
I've played every one since the Domark original, and I think I speak for most of the forum when I say CM01/02 had the perfect blend of fun, speed, and all that jazz. Nowadays it's more of a job than fun. Yes I know I can have FMC, but morale is too important in results to ignore.

soccer.joel
FM10. I've only played 08 (Demo), 10 and 13. 10 was the one I had most fun and best success on but i've enjoyed 13 a lot as well

tracdoor
I picked up LMA Manager 1999 for PSOne and played that (and subsequent LMA Manager games) for many years. I didn't discover CM/FM until 2006 when the LMA franchise died out. I loved how detailed CM2006 was (despite being one of the weakest & easiest CM games ever). I played FM2006 quite a bit as well, and was probably one of my favorite football manager games. It was so perfectly balanced. Then things started changing, team talks and morale became tedious and I stopped enjoying the genre. LMA Manager was discontinued and I honestly thought I would never enjoy a football manager-style game ever again (I played FM2011/2012 sometimes, although reluctantly, just for the up-to-date database and win7 compatibility). FMC has changed all that though. The first time I have played through more than 10 seasons on a football manager-style game in over 6 years.
Lawlore
The best game in the series was, of course, FML. None of the other FMs or CMs can touch that. It had its quirks, but there was so much innovation in it, so much that actually worked and worked well- not to mention features which I'm hoping will still see the light of day in the FM series- and the community just gave it a whole new level. You were the manager of your team, competing against other managers all over the world- that's what football management is about. I can honestly say there has been no other game I have played as avidly, of any genre. But, FML preaching aside, there used to be a real glut of football management games back on the Amiga, and some of the best CMs were way back then when there was competition. I was also a big fan of CM3 due to its intuitive editor.

lewcal
The best FM game for sheer addiction for me would be FM10. It was the first time I did over 20 seasons with a team, taking them from nowhere to the top.
santy001
FM07 was probably the most enjoyable one for me. Players aged really well so a team of veterans could still do pretty good things. Back then though I had a poor PC so a small database & poor regens. Gary Neville was still an England international RB at 42. He retired at 49 but because the players were still being relied upon because the regen quality was so low most of the senior players then were playing to their early 40's on that save. Danny Haynes was lethal against some of these ageing defences as a result. FM08 I didn't like too much of this, it seems after FM07 the pendulum swung too far the other way, most players were finished as top level players by the age of 31/32.
