Baggy2011
Hi everyone, Got a little dilemma, and just wanted to know what other people would do in this situation. I started out as Mansfield when the game first came out (ps this is the only save on fm13 iv played due to lack of time). After 5 seasons of near promotion misses and play-off defeats I finally won promotion to League 2. Not expecting much and with a lack of funds I just bought in bog-standard League 2 players to prepare myself for a relegation battle. To my surprise we went on a winning spree that took us to the top of the league early on. Despite a dip in form later on in the season we managed to cling on to the last automatic promotion spot and move up to League 1. So I decided now would be the time to bring in some big name players to really try and make a go of it in League 1. Bringing in players like Ross Wallace, Ishmael Miller and Bradley Wright-Phillips on free transfers and loaning good youth players from the higher divisions. Despite this we were relegated without really putting up much of a fight. After relegation back to League 2 I really fancied my chances of getting back into League 1, despite getting rid of some of those bigger names. Things didnt go well from the off and for the most part of the season it seemed like we were in for a mid-table slog. That was until the dramatic loss of form at the end of the season. Where 12 defeats in a row saw us relegated on goal difference!! Do I carry on in the Blue Square Prem back where we began or try a new save? What woud you guys do? Cougar2010
I would continue the save but resign from Mansfield and look for another club.
haunted1234
how did you not get sacked after 2 relegations inna row?
Herbert Fandel
I would continue the save but resign from Mansfield and look for another club. He might struggle to find another club at a decent level. I guess we can't really help the OP, it will come down to his gut feeling. Personally I would continue with Mansfield, as I would enjoy the challenge. I just took Histon into BSP but after opening 10 games it looks like I'm going back down. There have been so many FM files for me where it has all be boringly easy, so I'm really enjoying this one. That said, if this is OP's only FM 13 save, the world of FM is so big and offers so many challenges that I wouldn't ever recommend someone keeps on with a save (for toooo long) if they aren't enjoying it. Not sure how I didnt get the sack, I did get 2 promotions in a row though so maybe it took that into consideration. Think I'm gonna have a go, anything less than promotion though and im quitting lol
AcidBurn
I think you're right to stay and have a go, you've put a lot of time into the game and if you don't get promoted then resign and look for another job.
soccer.joel
I'd stay and be more determined to get them back
Baggy2011
I'd stay and be more determined to get them back I'm going to, spent the morning sorting out what players i want to keep on and who to release. Might be time for a big shake-up.
Reedy_1988
You do right, me personally i would hate to walk away (unless sacked) if i had been relegated two years in a row. Would make me more determined to get them to where i believe they should be competing.

We don't know what his starting rep was but after two promotions he shouldn't have a problem getting a job, at the very least in the BSN/BSS.

SpartyOn
Look at this way: You now have a very unique save. I can't imagine too many FM players have managed to get relegated twice in a row and keep their jobs. Might as well roll with it.

True, I think a good relationship with the chairman, players and fans has helped. Made a solid start to life back in non-league. 10 points from the first 4 league games, hopefully we can keep it up and get back into the Football League! WeeScotsPaul
I don't understand how anyone can fail with Mansfield in the lower leagues. I had them in a previous game and managed to consecutively win the BSP, League 2 and League 1. I don't know if it was my tactics, the player harmony or the financial clout that Mansfield have at that level. In any case, we finished top of the league three years in a row (never by miles, it always went to the last couple of games) and never struggled until we hit the Championship. That was a different story altogether.
