No Tycoon takeovers

Recommended Posts

I'm at 2021 yet, i've still to see no big tycoon takeovers is this normal?

Maybe its because i used the editor before making my save?

I had upgraded the spl to 20 teams..

p.s I should have stayed at rangers my 2 jobs in england, i got sacked

ha my worst ever start in england in any fm game..

i reckon i'll manage scotland for abit, since i'm jobless.

Perhaps it doesn't happen in all leagues or in low rep leagues, im in 2038 in N Ireland and i've not seen a single tycoon takeover

I saw tycoon takeovers in NI on FM12, although the teams didn't really make the most of it with their spending.

How many leagues have you highlighted as playable, and how many leagues do you have in your news subscriptions? I think that unless you have that league as a news subscription, you wont be told about tycoon takeovers.

I have the spl,the top 3 english leagues and the spannish league.

Yet i've saw no tycoon takeovers none have happened.

Its not a case of not being told i've saw there's been none.

Just checked my game (all leagues from Europe & the America's) & none of the clubs listed as rich are in their position following a tycoon takeover, had a flick through some of the secure clubs & nothing there either.

It does look like the tycoon could be a rare beast in FM, tbh I think that's a better & more realsitic situation than in previous versions where there appeared to be no shortage of billionaires buying clubs in some weird & wonderful places. Seeing an Irish billionaire buy a tiny Serie C2 outfit in a town that had population of less than 10,000 was a common takeover type in FM11 & 12, if that kind of nonsense has been tweaked out of the game then I'm all for it.

Save was started on 13.3.1 & does have the German 4th tier activated with valid takeovers only selected.

Edit & slightly off topic: Looking at the clubs in my save it does look like SI need to figure out a way to get their non-transfer spending increased to a more realistic level, on my save (Sept' 2018) there are currently 8 clubs with a cash balance in excess of £100m, Barcelona & Real Madrid are at the £400m mark which by some considerable margin is unrealistic & does suggest that there are some major club expenditures not being simulated in FM or income levels are increasing too much.

Probably because they add a bit of drama. I've only been through one, many years ago. It led to me having unrealistic demands (win the league... although 6th place and play-off promotion saved my job). However, the speculation about the new owner wanting to replace me with Leroy Rosenior means that he is hated in my household to this day...

im in 2019 and i can remember only 2, Bolton (who were in championship, 2015, at the time and got promoted but never used their large cash reserves and go relegated) and me. My fist ever tycoon take over. I'm a very successful Everton manager and was taken over in 2017/18 I think.

Thou I have all this money I don't actually like having sooooo much (£300m pumped in and £167m to spend). I prefer to spend on a budget and promote yth and reserves but i'm now under pressure to make a massive signing every season and all my star players want absurd wages. I know it sounds strange but its kind of spoiled my game (although i'm having a great rivalry with the other mega rich club, Man City)

The only way is to trawl through the landmarks page of each club, you can narrow down the possible clubs by going to the job security page & looking for any unexpectedly rich clubs.

You just need to be subscribed to the league that the team competes in, the default settings include news on any boardroom changes.

I saw one in year 2013 involving a North American businessman buyng River Plate and promised to invest €117.000.000. And heck, he really did, later they made a €9.000.000 offer for a player I was looking for :S

It's all about your subscriptions. I set up every league I have that's playable to show me job openings and board takovers for every league (and turned off everything else, except for the league I'm in). It takes an age to set up, and you have to reset it all when you go up or down a division, or change jobs, but I now get this detail.

Most takeovers seem to be be fan groups or 'local' businessmen. I see very few 'tycoon' takeovers but I believe they have happened (midway through my third season).
