squashstar666 Posted April 13, 2013 Share Posted April 13, 2013 Hi there guys I have a query, im looking on the boards and many many people are saying the latest patch is quite a step backwards I myself in a non rant way which is how you guys like it, stated what had gone back. And yet ive not seen any replies from anyone at si ? Is there going to be another patch guys and please dont just close the thread its a valid question I just want to no if this is it ? I we just supposed to shut up go away and never mention the parts that make the game unplayable at times ? Surely if something doesnt work someone has to fix it? Arnt games protected by the retail act ? Im just saying because I was enjoying the game pre patch now so many errors and silly stuff. Just dont understand why no fixes or patches ? Is it perfect? no but i'm enjoying it and haven't come across anything that makes the game unplayable. I imagine there will be no more patches as they are busy working on FM14 and i guess at some point they have to turn their attentions to that. SeanNUFC Posted April 13, 2013 Share Posted April 13, 2013 The latest patch has been a big step backwards, too many unhappy players not just at our own clubs but AI's to, too many managers getting sacked, too many managers wanting to move to another job, i just don't get it, really wishing now that I had left auto update off. The manager carroussel has been something of an issue in every version, but that is in my opinion not gamebreaking. squashstar666 Posted April 13, 2013 Author Share Posted April 13, 2013 No way, 1 full back back still stop when tracking back with wingers 2 defenders get out paced by much slower attackers 3 defenders suddenly wandering up the pitch for no reason and is happening loads in my game. 4 why do defenders who are man marking someone ignore a ball thats right next to them to go running after there marked player there shld be some kimd of code in there to overide a instruction like if a players been asked to man mark and the situation is better for jim to hold position then hold 5 defenders switching off far too often yes I no it happens but not so many times in a game to worl class defenders 6 red cards so so many so so annoying 7 injuries again so many especially after you have made your 3rd sub Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have two wide midfielders marking the opponent's wingers and they tend to let them loose on occasion as well, but that's to be expected as their defense stats are average at best. 2) Speed isn't the only stat you have to take into account. Decisions, concentration, agility (as the defender may have to turn before starting to run back, and that take valuable time as well), being on the wrong foot when the ball is played, positioning. 3) Probably an issue with the players instruction. Very high pressing perhaps? 4) Play zonal. Apart from that, it's again dependant on their stats, decisions and composure in this case I would say. Your player will hold position if you don't ask him to close down too much. Also, with zonal marking it's easier to keep your team's shape in my opinion. 5) That is, in my opinion, something that is simply not true. I'm assuming you're only watching highlights? In that case, you only see what defenders are doing wrong, and get a wrong image of how they're playing in general. 6) I've had two seasons without a red, and only one so far this year (in january now). Again, this is down to instructions and player personality (flamboyant players are more easily wound up, for example). 7) No unrealistic issues here, and I've played about 20 seasons in total. Ok maybe they wanted a chat or something but that for me is game breaking snd happens 1 in 3 of games. Just now coates marking lukaku is with him near the half way line lukaku jogs forward and coates just stand on the half way line no attempt to run with him and hes not injured ? It's interesting that you post about persistent problems yet you always mention the same example each time & tbh if your team is consistently acting like idiots then it will be predominantly a tactical issue but then again that's not what you want to hear is it? Some people who play the game say they don't encounter any major issues with defending, others say their defenders play like clowns.
