Downloading graphics

I'm on a mac and downloading graphics such as player faces kits and logos.

Once the download has finished, usually I double click on the file and it automatically opens the unarchiver to change the file into whatever it needs to be.

However, at the moment, once the download is finished when i double click on the file it opens text edit.

I have clearly done something wrong here, does anyone know how to fix it?

Sorry for my very basic description and understanding of this process.

P.s I am downloading the megapacks from sortitoutsi.

If I remember correctly, you download the file, it opens in a programme you can use to unzip the file. You unzip it into the correct destination.

If you are struggling, have a look in the Skinning Hideout and there might be a bit more help that I can give you in there.

If your on a mac, like me, try Zipeg or WinZip.

Just drag the file over the application.

Ok I will try that. It's weird because its saved as a .rar file but has an icon of a page/ piece of paper next to it.

Probably because you don't have an application suitable to open that file.

You could also try Unarchiver.

I do have the unarchiver which is why I thought this was weird. I have just got internet so going to try the suggestions now. Thanks for your help.
