[FM13] Republic of London - Release

Recommended Posts

EDIT: New version 6.1BETA released, fixing English Capital One Cup.

It's 2012, London will soon be hosting the Olympic games; emboldened by this glorious event and spurred on by the owners and leaders of the big banks scared of regulation, Boris Johnson has declared that London will become an independent state. The Republic of London is born, and not satisfied with taking just the City or Greater London the Republic have claimed all territory in the area inside the M25, therefore the likes of Watford find themselves within the Republic.

Of course it was seen as crucial that a football league was created and it was clear that with 6 former EPL clubs, led by Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal there would be some big money thrown at this venture...............

So here's the structure:

Vodafone Republic of London Premiership - 16 teams, play each other twice. 3 teams relegated; winners go into CL, 2nd and 3rd (dependent on R.o.L. FA Cup winners) go into EL. Prize money for winner is £16m down to £1m for last place. TV money for all clubs £40m.

Vodafone Republic of London Championship - 16 teams, play each other twice. Two go up automatically, next 4 playoff for one remaining promotion spot. 3 relegated. £10m TV money, good prize money.

Subway Republic of London League 1 - 22 teams, teams play each other twice. Two up automatically, next 4 playoff for one remaining spot. 3 relegated. TV money £500k

Subway Republic of London League 2 - 22 teams, teams play each other twice. Two up automatically, next 4 playoff for one remaining spot. 2 relegated. TV money £100k

Subway Republic of London League 3(unplayable league) - 18 teams. Two promoted.

Cup competitions:

Republic of London FA Cup - all 94 teams, including those from League 3 enter. Winner enters EL.

Pepsi Cup - This competition is a straight knock out involving only the top two tier teams.

Evening Standard Challenge Trophy - straight knockout for all clubs outside the top 2 tiers.

Google Republic of London Super Cup - Premiership champions vs FA Cup winners.

Awards:

Republic of London Player of the Year

Republic of London Domestic Player of the Year

Republic of London Overseas Player of the Year

All divisions have the following awards:

Player of the Season

Manager of the Season

Young Player of the Season

Golden Boot

Team of the Season

Goal of the Season

Player of the Month

Young Player of the Month

Manager of the Month

Team of the Week

Goal of the Week

The Premiership also has a Golden Glove award

Player restrictions:

With London being a multicultural melting pot there are no restrictions on foreign players. The Subway leagues require two homegrown players(from the nation) in matchday squads. There is also only a 3 year wait to gain nationality.

Tax rules:

Tax rules have been set up but are low to encourage players to move and stay in the Republic and allow clubs to grow.

Other:

West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium is set for 2015

Spurs new stadium move to Northumberland Park set for 2015

All seater stadiums required for top division only so clubs will need to upgrade, however they should all easily afford this.

National team has its strengths and weaknesses, the likes of Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Defoe, Lampard and more are available but there is no good goalkeeper! Yet. Pray for regens!

England league clubs have been moved up divisions to account for the London exodus so England remains playable. Extra English clubs added to the CL/EL also.

Known Issues:

England is playable alongside this, however for some reason the Capital One Cup is broken. Everything else in England works.

Due to editorial enthusiasm (or incompetence) I've made all English refs from London, I'll look to fix this soon.

Nothing else I can think of right now but please don't hesitate to let me know if you spot anything!!

This has been tested extensively for 20+ seasons and seems stable.

As always, no distribution of this without my permission

(note: current version is LDN6.1BETA - all versions below 6.0 where for my reference only)

Installation: download then put here: C/Your name/documents/sports interactive/FM2013/editor data (if you don't have editor data folder then just create it)

EDIT: I've created some very basic graphics for the nation and comps, download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nwi2iq493wl5xq3

I realise these aren't the greatest but it's really not my specialist subject!

Install to C/your name/documents/sports interactive/FM2013/graphics (create this folder if it doesn't exist)

I'd like to offer a massive thanks to nine_iron for his regional db thread, template and advice!!

All feedback gratefully received.

Enjoy

The English League Cup breaks because the teams in it need to be set to have correct last positions/divisions so that round seedings are set up correctly.

You need to change the last positions/divisions of the English teams so that the gaps in previous season history created by London teams are filled. This means you need:

Premiership teams last positions/divisions need to be set to: 1-17 from Premiership + 1, 2 and playoff winner of First Division

First Division teams need to be set to: 3-21(minus the playoff winner) from First Division + 1, 2 and playoff winner from Second Division

etc.

edgar555, I made something similar to this a couple of years back when testing - turned out to be quite fun.

What teams are in what divisions, and what country did you change in the editor? May have a go at this myself at some point :)

It is proving to be good fun. The long term test also proved that the smaller clubs do get a chance to improve and at 15 years in, 11 different clubs had played European football.

I'll put some screenshots of leagues up shortly but basically the Prem is all the London(+ Watford) EPL and FL clubs plus Dartford. Then it's done on rep for all the London clubs I could find in the DB.

edit: I used CIS as the base country, thanks to nine_iron's template.

Let me know what you think if you give it a go.

Yeah - I omitted the likes of Dartford and Watford in mine (I used just teams based in London themselves in the editor), so I ended up with about 3 divisions rather than 4.

I found in my tests (bear in mind it was some years ago) that it was dominated by Chelsea and Arsenal, but there was considerable European success.

I'll check this out this week some point (still stuck in my FMC Game in about 2045), so I'll let you know. :)

I went with the area inside the M25 just to increase the size.

Chelsea are by far the dominant force in the test save, they've won all but 6 titles (Arsenal x 3, Spurs x 2 and Fulham the others). Chelsea have also won 3 CL's and 2 World Club Cups!

Palace, Watford, Orient and Millwall have all won the FA Cup. AFC Wimbledon have just picked up their first Pepsi Cup. Borehamwood seem to be making themselves a top flight fixture which surprised me.

Did not know we had the likes of the great L.W. doing things like this! Learn something new every day!

I think its great to see SI guys editing db's and using user created ones. Like Dave says its probably good for them to see how the game holds up with things like co-efficients.

Plus like all of us they probably just like playing the game.

I have to say it is a good database. Just starting a career as the national manager. Just a minor thing is that all the players that get called up to the national team still have their previous England caps/goals records. Not sure if you meant this but as it is a new nation it would be good to start with a clean record.

Thanks mate.

The caps thing is on my list but wasn't a priority. I expect I'll get it done on the next update in a month or so.

50+ downloads and no feedback? Anyone......?

Would be most appreciated.

I DL'ed it, opened it up to look around, but I haven't had time to run a nice save through it until the kids are out of school. Looked good from what I saw, I love "speculative" DBs.

You have me very intrigued – as a freelance non-league football reporter for teams in the Uxbridge area I'm sure I'll have fun playing as AFC Hayes, Northwood, Uxbridge or Hayes and Yeading… I've been looking for something to get me back into FM13 so you might have me here.

Glad to hear it. Any of those teams would provide a challenge. In my test save H&Y were yoyoing between the Prem & Championship, I'm sure good management could get them stable in the top league. Good luck.

Just wondering if the semi pro teams come professional after a period of time. They seem to stay at the semi pro level. Any way to change this if they make the premier division.

In my test save plenty of the semi pro teams made the jump to pro. I guess it happens at a certain finance level, not necessarily because they've made the Prem, although being there should give them the ££££ needed, it may just not happen as soon as they're promoted.

Can't seem to get the International squad to work. I select my own group of players, click confirm, and the correct related news articles come up. However these are followed by (often contradictory) articles based on the assistant's chosen squad, and on the squad list, it is in fact the assistants squad not mine.

Never come across this issue and I've played 4 seasons with the national team. You're not clicking on the message to 'use assistants squad' when it comes up are you?
