wardog
Hi all I recently upgraded my pc. However i no longer have a cd drive as i planned to keep my old one, only to find out later it wasn't compatable with my new motherboard. Now i love FM07 but i now cant play it, as i obviously have no disc drive. - i do have disc. Is there anywhere i can legally download FM07 - preferably without paying too much for it. - I have tried steam already Thanks
JR866Gunner
Personally I would use the money to by USB CD drive rather than buy/download (if possible?) a new copy. At least the USB CD Drive could come to good use with other bits of software etc.

(I did the same with CM03/04 up untill 2007/08 ish, after FM07 came out funnily enough) It's good that there is always one version that you absolutely love and go back to, it's what helps you keep faith with future releases. (hoping for the next perfect version)

grade
Yes, you do. You need the FM07 cd on the cd driver when you always load the game. After that you can take the cd out of the cd driver. So your suggestion of borrowing an external cd driver isn't much of a solution, unless he finds some friend that borrows his external cd driver and forgets all about it or he buys a external cd/dvd/blu-ray driver. I would love to have a way not always carrying the FM07 cd, specially when going on trips.

Sigh - may need to just invest in a disc drive for two games then
grade
I bow to your superior knowledge I'm surprised at your bow and humble by it. I was just simply trying to help a fellow user. Wardog, it seems that way. Unless SI decides to support it via Steam, which I find unlikely as their main focus now is FM13 and 14.
LEEMOD
wouldn't bother mate, if you have Windows 7 or higher it won't even play, I have tried several times, tried it running as administrator, shame, I would love that game to be updated to 2013, a perfect game
grade
Mine works perfectly fine with Windows 7.
LEEMOD
Hi Grade, how? When i tried to install it got loads of error messages, when i did eventually install it, it said I had no disc. The disc was in the drive, the disc is fine with my older PC!
grade
I had a blog from a guy that explain the process, but the blog is no longer working. I remember mine went without a glitch (well generally speaking, since UI of installation program was having some issues), but it has been 3 years since I install it. However there is a couple of things you could try. First try to right clicking the setup file on the CD and try using some of the compatibility options (such as setting it to be compatible for windows XP SP2). The second thing is trying to upograde your Java application. The other thing... well can't say it here since it is a "work around" Note: also when i install Windows 7 i use my current hard drive (I had upgrade the computer in 2009 I had to put Vista, so when installed Windows 7 the computer was the same), it created a folder called Windows.old and FM07 was in it. End up erasing it, i figured it could create some sort of conflict with the game I installed. Sorry if I ain't much help.
JR866Gunner
As far as I know you can install in xp compatibility mode. Works with most software. (it kinda tricks the software into thinking the PC is an older version of the OS)

chob
Mine works perfectly fine with Windows 7. Mine works but the resolution means that the picture doesn't fill my whole screen. I have a big black bit down either side of my screen.
grade
Same with mine. The game doeans't support the highest resolutions that newest monitors have, which is a shame. But we are talking a 6 year old game... has it been that long? Now I feel old.

Same for me aswell. But it's fine for me, I find I don't even notice it after a while and everything is still fine/easy to look at. (doesn't look squashed or anything)
