The Game is Stupid

Recommended Posts

Got to penalties in a cup tie. I tried to bring on a sub before the end of extra time, but the ball didn't go out of play, and he didn't come on. Problem was, there was no option to continue to penalty shoot-out. So I had to quit and start at the last saving point.

A match prior to the cup tie, which I had won 3-2, I played with the same team and tactics. This time I lost 9-1.

The game is ridiculous and a waste of time.

Then there's the injuries: I have 5 players out, all with torn calf muscles. I have had games where there I have had 18+ shots on target, the opposition have had 1, and I have lost 3-0.

Yes, it happens in football. But not 3 or 4 times each season. I have watched my own team in RL since 1989, every home game, at least half away. I have seen ONE game where this has happened that I can remember, out of 600 where this has happened.

This sounds like a bug that cropped up a while back. I'm sure you just need to go to the home screen and then back to the match and the button will reappear. No need to quit and start back. Doesn't help now I know, but still. It's unfortunate. As for your result when you came back, something obviously changed for such a swing in results.

If you say so.

There are not too many injuries, as has been discussed to death so many times. And if you're getting that many shots on target, then either you've come up against a keeper on the top of his game (happens in real life regularly) or you need better finishers. I don't see what the problem is.

Awful comparison. The fact that you won 3-2 the first time means it already was a close call in the first place. The circumstances in which a game evolves might make an opponent to adapt tactically, thus the same team and tactics used does not imply the same results or even the same flow of the game. If one of the opponent's players had an offday the first time and has a stormer in this game, that alone could cause the game to turn around.

If you played them once and won then lost 9-1 just play it again until you get a result similar to the 1st time you played

Actually i'd much rather analyse the 9-1 hammering and figure out what went wrong as this is likely highlighting a weak spot in your set up that could be fixed easily or all your players decided they hate you and don't want to play for you or the team (hoping its more the first bit than 2nd)

There are not too many injuries in the game, there are too many similar type injuries that occur. An issue I've noticed is that the injuries obtained from the "green cross" injury turn out to be ones that should have resulted in a player being immediately subbed and vice versa.

The 1 shot on target 1 goal is a real annoyance for me too, however, I find it occurs more when i'm cruising to victory and win 3 or 4-1. If i'm getting loads of shots on target but no goals, use the analysis tab and figure out whats going wrong. We all suffer Arsenal syndrome sometimes.

Exactly this. It's not unusual to have 3 or 4 long term injuries (it is unlucky, yes, but not unrealistic) but if those injuries are all torn hamstrings, which seems to be the main "big" injury I get (I had 4 players out with torn hamstrings recently) then it does look odd. If those 4 injuries were more varied then it wouldn't appear so strange.

I don't see a problem with the number.

Oh no, not a "I go to games so I know better" post. :(

That's actually kind of funny.

And yes, while having 3 or 4 players with torn calf muscles at the same time is extremely annoying, the problem is not the number of injuries, it's the variety (or lack thereof) that is the problem.

i agree but with such a hugh difference in scoreline its far from realistic, man utd in real life cant go from winning a game 2-1 to losing 8-0, yeh they could lose but not with such a great margin of difference.

the fact is the game is completely random at times, no matter how training, how good your coaches are or how good your tactics or players are, you will lose horriably with no control over it what so ever, if u do not agree then you clearly havent put much time into fm13.
