CurnRaisin
Hi After having a very rewarding game with an Irish database in FM 12 I couldn't find one for 13, so with some spare time on my hands I tried a go at it myself. Season runs from end of February to middle of December, I got 6 tiers: Irish Premier league-12 teams(0 Promoted, 2 Relegated) Irish First division-12 teams (2 Promoted, 2 Relegated) Irish Lower division-22teams (2 Promoted, 6 Relegated) Irish Regional 3--Split into Ulster, Leinster and Munster Senior leagues, 10, 14, 10 teams(2 Promoted, 2 Relegated from each) Irish Regional 4--Split into Ulster, Leinster and Munster First Divisions, 10, 14, 10 teams(2 Promoted, 2 Relegated from each) Irish Regional 5 -Rest of the teams in Ireland (115 teams, Inactive) I couldn't get It working by adding leagues to the existing structure so I had to do it from scratch, Added 1 team to the Premier league, then the 5 highest reputation teams to the First division. I then Added the next 22 highest rep teams (that weren't in one of my active leagues) to the lower division. Regional 3 and 4 were all ready OK and then added the rest of the teams in Ireland to the regional 5 (inactive division) so that there would be movement up and down from regional 4. I added 7 cups, Senior challenge cup(all teams in Ireland), League cup(teams in top 3 leagues), Ulster, Leinster and Munster Senior cups,(only teams from their own regional divisions), Junior challenge cup (same as senior cup except only 3 over 23yr old players in squad) and super cup(Senior challenge cup and premier league winner) I sorted out prize money for each league and cup and some TV money too for the top divisions, made and edited awards for the lower leagues. I went on holiday to test it out and every thing seems to be working close enough as planed apart from 2 main problems, that are probably connected. First are teams finances, apart from 1 or 2 teams in the premier league that win things or board take overs either by consortium's or tycoons most teams go into dept either tens of thousands for smaller teams or hundreds of thousands for higher level teams. Also teams seem to have terrible wage budgets, if you add in a manager a team might be spending 12k on wages and in the meeting with the chairman he give you a wage of 2-3k, but if you choose to disagree and ask for more options the minimum will go up to at least what your spending. Second is with contracts players rarely stay at clubs for longer than 1-2 year and more often than not leave on free transfers, I know part time contracts are shorter but even still in 2025 click on any team in the premier league and 90% of their players wouldn't have been there longer than 2 years. And most teams seem to be only giving 1 year deals even the professional teams who can offer 5yr deals, players ain't staying. I don't know if it the teams offering short contracts or the players not accepting or some thing to do with team/league/player reputation. Also any way talented youth player don't stay and leave right away on a free transfers to higher Division or English league teams there doesn't seem to be compensation like other leagues. There are some players that are bought and sold, but most of the transfers done are free signings, and any of the best players that are lost to English or Scottish teams on free transfers is money lost to the leagues and adds to the problem. I uploaded a picture to show the extent of these short contracts. I have tried upping the prize money and TV money given to each club but even still a lot of teams are still in dept/losing all players on free transfers. I realise this is the Irish league and as such a lower reputation Division with smaller stadiums, but is there any thing I can do to at least help teams keep their players so that they can sell them to make money, and have the Irish league a chance to move up the reputations, I remember in FM 10 and 12 in long term save some Irish teams making it to the Group stage of the Champions league and buying selling players for over the £1million mark. I don't want to make the Irish team stupidly powerful but is there any other way than just upping the money they get. I also realise that my structure is not quite how it is in real life and that I may have some teams in the wrong tier so I apologise to any one who likes it ultra realistic, but this just started out as something I did while playing my main save and now I'm just annoyed that it aint working, since its so close to being ok. TL - DR- Custom Irish database is failing on the finances of teams in the Irish divisions and contracts are stupidly short with players moving much too frequently on free transfers
