Byline Crossing is so strong

Recommended Posts

In conjunction with lots of bodies attacking the box, I've found it to be very effective. Anyone else think this is true?

I was trying out a tactic revolving around attacking fullbacks getting to the byline to cross to up to 5 players attacking the box, and it has worked ridiculously well. Too well in fact.

Thing is, I don't even feel like the attacking players are doing well. It's not like I'm seeing, graphically, attacking players charing the 50-50 crosses to score goals. Defenders just seem incapable of dealign with them, and one of my 5 players just end up scoring tap-ins and rebounds.

It only works if the players you have are actually capable of beating their man and actually able to put a cross in.

Great that it works for you but it doesn't suit everyone. There are posts in here and GQ where people claim crossing is broken because their own players can't find anyone in the box and it always hits the defender. Which ofc isn't true as you rightly point out above it can work well.

I have no doubt that it works, since the results don't lie. However, I have a bit of a problem with why it work.

Too often, I feel like the goals were not a result of good crossings or good movement in the box, but opponents defenders simply failing to deal with this type of crosses. It feels weird. As if I'm abusing AI's stupidity or something.

Strangely I don't have much successs with byline crossing, everytime my players race to the byline the crossing will just blocked my the defenders or my player get tackled and result in corner because they just keep delaying the cross every single time, and this happen with every player I have, don't know if it's a bug or not.

Because that, I never use Winger(A) anymore, I use Winger(S) instead
