Campeonato Brasileiro Série A - How To Prevent Poaching?

Recommended Posts

Just fired up a save with Santos and into the second season I'm starting to get some serious interest from the big euro teams for my young prized possessions. The established first team players have a large enough contract that their minimum fee release clause is substantial but do you people have any tips for holding on to youth players that have minimal contracts/release fees?

I get the same type of thing happening with my Slavia Prague save. We are a good team, compete each season with Sparta Prague to get the champions league spot, but its the pesky big clubs that like to come around to raid me for my talent.

I have found getting more young players to be tutored by Loyal types helps a little. Its tough to keep them though, they naturally want to test their skills in the big leagues. If you can get them signed to long term contracts I find the longer the contract the longer it takes for clubs to come snooping, the players in their last year or two will pick up more interest.

Setting high asking prise helped a lot in FM12.

In FM13, though, players have a tendency to dislike being overpriced. Even if it's only double their value...

every player who has complained about my valuation of him has reacted positively to me saying he underestimates his worth, no big deal, its just a minor, recurring inconvenience.

Does the "dynamic league reputation" help at all? As in, does the Brazilian league grow in reputation over time, which would make top talents more likely to stay? This would mirror real life where Brazilian clubs are starting to grow a bit of financial muscle. Neymar and Damiao have stuck around, and of course Corinthians recently bought Pato.
