Zoetermeer
The biggest problem I have defensively is wingers cutting inside and then turning into Maradona, slicing through defenders before scoring. My team is stocked with players with good aerial ability, so I'd almost prefer my fullbacks to shepherd them to the byline and attempt a cross rather than cutting in. What's the best way to achieve this? I've tried standing off to try and have a central defender back in position to stop a winger cutting inside like that, but it doesn't really seem to work and it's really annoying watching my fullbacks stand off while their man runs roughshod like that. But I think pressing more is ineffective as well, since the fullback may commit too early.
drinkmixer84
My preferred method is this: if he's an AMR, set his instructions to show onto right foot. Same thing with AML, show onto left foot...if he has superstar stats like a Bale, I'll also set his instructions to close down: never
Zoetermeer
I'll try that. By the way is there any way to set a standing OI that's applied for each match, instead of having to do it each game?
drinkmixer84
Not that I know of but I wouldn't recommend that because every match is unique.
Warrenwwr
im using box to box midfielders rather than amrl/mrl. with the right stats, midfield and the flanks are dominated. the b2b midfielders really do hassle opposition wingers, and position themselves more centrally to block cut inside.
