jujigatame
Just hoping to have a better understanding of this. In what way do these differ? When I think of both, I think of players being more free to stray from position and follow the run of play rather than staying put. Surely there's a very significant difference between the uses of these 2 settings, though?
Puni
Roaming means movement off the ball. Fluid just has players participate in more aspects of play (which is why it is used with general roles). For example, a midfielder with roaming on may drift as far as the touchline to get the ball. In a fluid way of playing a midfielder with CM(D) will be the midfielder who takes up the most defensive part of the midfield responsibilities, but will still contribute to playmaking and even getting forward as well (fluid). In a rigid system, you'd have to opt for an anchor man or a DLP, who both have a strictly outlined role and are supposed to do one thing and one thing only. The rigid style will force them to stick to that role.
