JLlo
In my current game I started unemployed and got a job at the team who were bottom of the Blue Square South half-way through the first season. I was able to make a handful of loan signings from higher leagues that helped me to turn the season around and finish in the top half. However, in the second season I was unable to make any loan signings from higher leagues; all clubs responded to my offers with "would prefer them to play at a higher level." I couldn't even get any Blue Square Premier reserve or youth team players on loan. It doesn't make sense considering in the first season I had two players on loan from Burnley, who are in the Championship - 4 divisions above me. This really had a major impact on my fortunes - as a semi-professional club I'd planned on having 5 loan signings again to base my team around. Not being able to make any loan signings resulted in only one win from the opening 6 games of the season, thus earning me the sack. Then, to my annoyance, the new manager they hired brought in 5 loan signings during his first week. They were all from higher leagues and to make it worse all 5 players were ones I'd scouted and been told by their clubs that they wanted them to "play at a higher level." I then took charge of a Scottish Second Division team and have been unable to make a single loan signing; Scottish Division One clubs want me to pay 100& of the wages (my club has no funds) to loan any of their reserve team players and SPL clubs want their reserve & youth players to "play at a higher level." Has this happened to anyone else? If so, any suggestions or advice?
podunkboy
likely it's your reputation as a manager, maybe the other teams manager's opinion of you. Do you have a parent team that you might be able to inquire about available players? I had a player on loan from the parent club, he returned at the end of the season, I went to borrow him again the next year, and he refused to talk to me, even though I was listed as "favored personnel" on his profile. Football Manager.
Later on in the season players are willing to drop to your level and clubs will let them go with %0 wages that would be for short term loans around feb time till end of season
JLlo
Thanks for the replies guys. likely it's your reputation as a manager, maybe the other teams manager's opinion of you. Do you have a parent team that you might be able to inquire about available players? I had a player on loan from the parent club, he returned at the end of the season, I went to borrow him again the next year, and he refused to talk to me, even though I was listed as "favored personnel" on his profile. Perhaps it is to do with my reputation; I started as former semi-professional. I've tried the parent club route - unfortunately, with both clubs I've been unable to get a parent club. I've had responses such as: "The board does not feel there would be any benefit" and "the board were unable to find a suitable parent club." Later on in the season players are willing to drop to your level and clubs will let them go with %0 wages that would be for short term loans around feb time till end of season I thought this may have been the case too. However, I'm in March of the 2nd season now and still can't get a single player on-loan.
