So now that the season is over...

Recommended Posts

So now that the 12/13 season is basically over bar the Champions League and Championship Playoffs, who's going to be toned-up and toned-down for next year? I love this time of the season because you can go into editor and make it a bit more realistic! For me the following should be given a boost:

-Coutinho

-Bentekkers

-Carrick

-Bale (Only a touch)

-Guzan

-McManaman

-Maloney

Players needing toning down:-

-Hart

-Chesney

-Skrtel and Agger

-Vermaelen

-Valencia

-Giroud

RVP's loyalty should be toned down.

To 1.

Should he also be added to disliked at Arsenal? Not being a fan I'm not sure how hated he is, but I've seen nothing but negative comments.

Bale's long shots need to go up by about 10. He must've scored at least half a dozen from outside the box this season so it's a bit of a joke that his long shots are 7. Also I think his free-kick taking, dribbling, finishing, first touch are all slightly under-valued, though his team-work could certainly go down.

Doubt Giroud's attributes will change, he'll improve next season IRL.

Valencia's previously been underrated on FM, now that he's had a shocking season his attributes are about right.

few of the Wigan players could do with a boost.

Very few deserve it. 2 or 3 decent performances in the cup aside, they were pretty dreadful in the league all season.

Yeovil Town deserve a tone up. FM always underestimates them and they are regularly relegated in my game. Up the Glovers!

His injury proness should also be toned down. Hasn't been regularly injured in over 2 years yet it still like 15.

I disagree with the "few of the Wigan players could do with a boost" comment.

McManaman had a good end to the season, sure, but is it a flash in the pan? I'd argue he deserves a bit of a boost, though. Quite a few of the defenders are already rated quite strongly in-game. You can't forget that, cup-run aside, this is a team that lost the 3rd most games in the league and conceded joint-most with Reading.

off top of my head

bale - up on long shots

walker - down on defensive stats (had a poor season IMO)

McManaman - better potential and current ability

Adeboyor (sp) and Giroud - both a down grade

Hart - down, has had a poor season by his high standard

Zabeleta (sp) - Man city RB should be better

Sigurosson - down on both CA and P

John Terry - down on CA. I think he's been very poor all season

Saw Balotelli close down a player the other night so may be a boost in team work and work rate (joke)

Think McManaman is going to be a class player so he should have much better potential. Martinez seemed cautious about putting him in the first team for league matches, but he performed very well in the cups all season and should've been introduced in the league much earlier.

Larnell Cole needs a buff.

Januzaj, Tom Thorpe & Reece James too. But that is probably being biased towards our youth team... It is frustrating though how none of those players stand a chance of making it in to the United first-team, or really any Premier League team even though they have loads of potential. By 2020 the best players on the game in their early-mid 20s tend to be regens rather than the most promising 16-19 year old's out there at the moment in real life. I prefer using genuine players for as long as I can so would like to see some of the most promising youth players given a PA boost across the board, because to be honest I do find it unrealistic how few of them are ever good enough for even a half decent team.

Maybe it's because there's too much risk involved, some of these players may still end up as absolute duds in real life and the FM makers don't want a reputation for getting it completely wrong with some young players. It's much less risky to stick a load of computer generated characters in with more potential.

I think Coutinho is about right, remember he is only young and still developing, he has been amazing for me in my first Liverpool season, playing him in the centre of the park with Gerrard he has scored 13 with ave rating of about 7.7.

I think thats pretty good - also his stats are shooting up.

Well my Wolves team are going to be ripped apart.

BUT Leigh Griffiths, maybe get him back to FM10/12 days where he was a beast.

Bakary Sako should get a boost, he has been quality this year.

Bjorn Sigardsson, first touch should be boosted, from the games ive seen him play in, he has got a quality first touch

Torres is still a quality player but look how worse he has become on the game

Exactly. Why is he? Loss of ability? No, course not. Loss of CONFIDENCE. He should start with as good a group of stats as he had a Liverpool, but abysmal morale. Maybe throw in a touch of homesickness to make it harder to return him to form.

He's been bad for ages, not confidence anymore. He's just lost IT.

Sorry, but you don't just lose ability without injuries at 29. It's entirely a mental issue, not physical. 23 goals last season by the way.

Funny how everyone seems to forget that papiss cisse is one of the most overrated players on fm. Check his stats, its shocking :p

No, im not bitter that he always seems to score at least a hattrick against me, not at all.

Doesn't Papiss Cisse have 20 for finishing? Has anyone actually see him play? He's a very very wasteful striker.

Think he got downgraded to 18 finishing in the january update, but thats still an absolute joke. Also, it seems that target men have a massive advantage in this game, the amount of goals chamakh and giroud grab per season is unbelievable.

FYI, my first season at spurs GRANT HOLT got the golden boot, and was also named europes 3rd best striker. What the **** is that all about? He was still playing for norwich.
