pauladams84
Who else is getting fed up with staff in wrong roles. I've posted in the wishlist (added at bottom). Last season I had no GK coach allowance although I managed to find a coach with coaching GK 18 so I just signed him. Now I'm allowed two but when I offered new contract he would only accept normal coach. He is now just wasting a coach spot as I have signed 2 GK coaches. Does anyone know how to sort this out? So many improvements could be made on the staff side off things. The jobcentre advertising is good but to just have a list of candidates is annoying. Ability to filter candidates is needed. Not having staff potential in any form is really stupid when you got the introduction of the qualifications. All is needed is something saying academic possibility/strength etc. One major problem this FM has been staff in unsuitable roles. Scouts that should be coaches. Coaches in the game that is absolutely rubbish cos they are an awsome physio under a coach role. I even remember a GK coach that had 3 for coaching GKs but had 18 for fitness. This can be fixed with an added section on players future that indicates most suitable staff role which then can be recommended. Also the ability to ask staff to retrain in a different role would work. Although obviously this will only deal with players/staff that are with your club but hopefully the AI would be able to do it better.
podunkboy
I'd like to see that fixed/addressed - in some of the lower leagues, you can find ONE legitimate candidate with a GK rating above 3, but he wants to be a scout. As long as I'm PAYING someone to do a job they're qualified for, it shouldn't matter what the job title is.
arsenalthebest
very easy fix just give him the coach role select name of you team at the bar along the top select 'training from the drop down menu then click on coaches and simply assign your new coach(assuming he accepts the contract) and tick either or both of the Keeper training catergories
pauladams84
Yes there are so many scouts that should be a coach that it has became ridiculous. That is just setting his training which I set from start to be GK. This doesn't help with the fact that he is takin up a coach allowance spot. The only thing I can do now is sack him but I'm reluctant cos he is a good coach (gk coach).
dyne
You already have 2 GK coach right? Then there is no problem on sacking him. Beside there is a lot of coach or GK coach so if one didn't want to sign in that position you can search for another staff. The thing that bothers me is to get U18 staff, you better prepare to pay a high wages
CityAndColour
I echo the wacky attributes issue. Oh nice, 18 for attacking and technique coaching, 16 for fitness, 2 for judging player ability and 3 for judging player potential. But you'll only sign as a scout. Herbert Fandel
I don't know where the idea comes from that you can force someone to do a role. Maybe it should be better implemented in the game that peoples' wage demands go up for roles they don't want, but you can't force someone to sign for you as a scout if he doesn't want to sign as a scout... CityAndColour
I think a better solution would be consistent attributes that suit the staff role. There are some very weird templates.
pauladams84
Sacking is the easy option although he is better than my 2 standard GK coaches. I ended up making one of them an u18 gk coach. nah forcing them wouldnt work but asking them when they are already at your club shouldnt be a problem, after they have re-trained you can offer them new contract in the prefered role. Retraining would obviously make potential lower like it does with players and position training. Ability to offer potential new staff higher wages and they accepted would be helpful but to make it realistic then it would have to be a substantial increase. Domus Clamantium
I have experimented and found that when their Interest In Job is "None" you can still get them to do that job. All you have to do is offer them more in wages, and it could be quite a bit more.
RocheBag
Why should you be able to force someone to sign on in a position they don't want to?
forameuss
Why should you be able to force someone to sign on in a position they don't want to? I echo this. You're complaining about someone doing a different job from one they're good at, but they have a contract for performing that role. I don't think you can just say "So you're off to Central America, Mr Scout? No no, today you're off to the training ground", as that's not their job. Of course, you could still argue that someone with good stats for coaching usually wouldn't be a scout, so maybe the stats need to be balanced better. But just because they're good at it, doesn't mean they necessarily want to do it.

pauladams84
I have never said force....... simply to be able to ask them to retrain for a dif role..... this happens in real life with different coachin badges..... If you ask an they say no then its tough luck!!
