Just got a new laptop,managed to get my old save onto it,been playing it all day and when ive gone to click save it says "the game cannot be saved" what can i do?

Have you tried 'save as' and setting the correct folder and a different name?

Maybe transferring it changed to read-only or something

If you loaded the save over the network, you may be trying to save on a location you don't have write access. Try to save it in another folder, preferably one you know you can write data to

I just created a folder called Football Manager on the "save as" and it has seemed to of saved there, Thanks for the help

When you go to 'load game' you might need to manually find that folder again then, although hopefully the 'resume last save' option should do that for you.

Could it be because you ran out of space?

P.S. Never ever play a whole day before saving. 5 saves, save a different save before or after every match, and backup your most recent save every now and then in an email, USB drive etc. or become one of those people that comes here in desperation after losing their save game. It's not a case of if, it's a case of WHEN there's a crash or bug.
