borobadger
I'm managing Suwon in the Korean K league, trying to complete the Pentagon Challenge, and I asked the board to try and sign me Yakubu, and they agreed so I thought great. Transfer window comes along and I find Yakubu is now on 96k a week plus nearly every clause the game has to offer. Signing him has pretty much doubled the clubs wage bill, and now to board are saying I urgently need to sort the wages out and my job security is declining rapidly... anyone had this? Sikker
I've never had it. Seems a bit stupid that you have to pay for your boards total lack of financial knowledge Maybe worth a bug report...
borobadger
Apparently the board are "distraught and devastated by my control of the wages" even though its of their doing.
soccer.joel
I never had this before but I handle all contract negotiatians myself
MichaelBrown
I can understand why his wages are high (not 96k, but higher, he's a well known player and you aren't a big team in the grand scale of things), but if the board is complaining about the wage bill, then it definitely needs sorting out. That's pretty stupid.
Herbert Fandel
I agree it is slightly stupid, but it is basically how that feature is supposed to work. It is more that the board treats him as a marquee signing and do it for you without regard to the maximum wage they set you, rather than just the board do the legwork. If you want the board to do the legwork, add him as a transfer target instead. I see what you mean that the board shouldn't be angry about the wage control, but in my eyes you gave up the right to complain when asking them to make a marquee signing, and it is up to you to reduce the wage of the rest of the squad according. Perhaps this should be made much clearer to users, as I can easily see how one could misinterpret the feature.
borobadger
I know what you mean, but for me to reduce the wage bill I would literally have to get rid of my entire team and just have Yakubu and the youth team, although for the season after the board give me a big increase in wage budget which meant I'm not over it by that much anymore
TheJock83
Yakubu is on 96k to start with, they will just have matched his wages.
johnhughthom
Surely if you are going to pay someone 96k, you could get a much better player than Yakubu...
borobadger
lol I didn't know he would be on 96k a week when I asked the board to sign him, I though he would be on a fair bit more than most of my players, but he earning 9 times the average for my team, which already is twice the league average. Its pretty much been resolved now, but for a while my job security dropped significantly
