End of Season 1: June 2013;

Second Division Final Table - Player Stats.

So we did it, FC Britannia are coming home into the Top Tier of Gibraltarian

Football. Final game of the season we played after Boca Juniors giving us

the advantage knowing we needed just a draw to win the League ... We

got a win and won the Clubs first Trophy since 1963.

The Fixtures.

The Rock Cup;

The Reserves unfortunately lost in the semi's, which put us in a bit of bother

as we had a few tired legs after we allowed our first teamers to play in the

semi and we had 2 league games in a space of a week (3 in 8 days with the

cup game), usually we play once a week (sometimes just twice a month).

Our first team though made the final where we played Leo Parilla FC, who we

had beaten in 2 previous league meetings.

The Final.

So thats a Double.

The Squad.

Board Confidence - Finances.

How good is the Gib Premier Division compared to the rest of European

competitions!?

2013/24 Euro Cup;

After winning the Rock Cup we qualify for the Euro Cup, which starts just a few

weeks after our season ends, so no rest for our guys this year.

First Qualifying rd draw: FC Vaduz (Liechtenstein).

If we make it past Vaduz we get Rapid Bucherest.

Internationals;

Away vs Moldova - WCQ

Home vs Montenegro - Friendly

Tolga Joseph is not only the 2nd Div's top scorer he scored on his International

debut, had a great Season.

Euro Cup, 1st Q. rd

Away vs FC Vaduz

Home vs FC Vaduz

A great experience for our first time in Europe, a sahem at the home loss after playing

well keeping them down to 1-0 at their ground.

Huge news: We turn Semi-Pro!!!

Junior Budget Increased, finally after months of begging.

The Squad for Season 2.

The plan;

The plan going forward is to keep players on Amateur contracts until another club

comes in for them/shows an interest in them and then i will sign them up/offer

them a Semi-Pro deal. This will hopefully keep our costs down and prevent us going

into the red after the big changes at the club. I am also hoping this will mean some

Staff will be interested in joining the club, it's getting a bit lonely just me a Physio,

a Scout and my Assistant.

December 2013 - March 2014.

FC Britannia;

First up for our season was the Pepe Reyes cup, which sees the Premier League

winner face us (The Rock Cup winners).

Lions FC vs FC Britannia

A first half hattrick from last seasons star striker Tolga Joseph inside the first

23 minutes sees us ruin out 3-0 winner and thats 3 Trophy's in just over a

year in charge for me!!!

I thought the Premiership would be a huge step up in class ... I'm not sure

why really now, when clearly the team are all actually pretty close in status.

We started the season with a 5-2 victory and never looked back, i could pretty

much play whomever i wanted and we would get a result and we have already

won the Title with 4 games to go.

No signings in January but we did let someone go - Transfers.

Premier League Table.

How are the Youth players doing!?

14 goals in 9 games: Clint Wilson YP1j

International News;

First in the news was the draw for the 2016 Euro's Qualifying stage ...

Group A.

An interesting group with no standout "big" nations but all teams are teams who

could/should beat us .. But we'll see. Predictions: Bottom 1 point.

March;

Away vs Malta

*Coming Soon: New Youth, Champions League Draw and Armenia come to town!*

Like to see new leagues being used. Shame about your issues you have had so far but hopefully things will be ok so far this time round. I think you will get a win in qualifying

Yes, it's a shame i had to take the Andorran leagues apart but at least it means everything is stable now. Thanks for the confidence i wish i had some of that .. Estonia may be our best shot, but i still think that will be a couple of tough games.

April - July 2014: - Season 2 Ends well

FC Britannia;

With 4 games left in the league we have already been crowned Champions,

so i decided to make everyone available for the Reserve team (so we also

won the Reserve League) and play guys who hadn't yet played many times

and the new YP's ... Speaking of which...

Alex Wordsworth YP2a

Giannis Tsakiridis YP2b

Tim Dale YP2c

Pete Stern YP2d

already able to walk into the first team lineup.

Premier Division Final Table|Player Stats.

The Premier Division drops below the Ukrainian Regional Leagues in the European Rankings.

The Rock Cup: Knocked out in the Quarter Final on Pens, vs Boca Juniors.

I felt we were a little short in defense so i brought in this guy: Jamie Booth he is a regular at International level and should at the very least give us a little more cover.

Gibraltarian Club Rankings: We are now the top club in Gib.

2013/14 Best XI - Player of the Season: Stanislav Couzens.

European News;

Our Clubs Co-efficients.

Champions League 14/15;

The draw see's us face TNS in the Champions Qual. Rd 1.

If we get through that very tough game we get: GNK Dinamo

1st leg, Home vs TNS

The first 20 plus minute is all them but we manage to get a great Counter and

RB Johnson crosses in and Wilson gets between their CB's and prods home.

2nd Leg, Away vs TNS.

Always going to be a tough game with the media predicting they would

hammer us ... I tried to Contain them and keep their chances low in the

first half but it just wasn't to be, they were much fitter this game (being

now a couple of weeks into their Pre-Season) and they ran out 6-0 winners.

International;

Home vs Armenia

We proved here that we are not yet above tiny, tiny minnow status ... It's going to be a long qualifying campaign!!!

The International Summer/Autumn;

August

Home vs St Lucia - Friendly

3-1 Loss, we played well just couldn't put the ball away. Beat

them on possession and shots on target.

September

Away vs Morocco - Friendly

5-1 loss, not a good game for us on our trip over the

Gibraltar strait. In good news Cengiz Morris scored his

3rd International goal.

Away vs Austria - ECQ

The big team of our group ... Smashed us 8-1!! YP1j's first

goal though.

October

Home vs Estonia - ECQ

Kept the score down but only 1 shot on target, 2-0 loss.

Home vs Georgia - ECQ

I decided to try and hit them at times in this game but we

lost 6-2. They had 42 total shots!!!

November

Home vs Turkmenistan - Friendly

Lost 3-0 in a game that wasn't too one sided, we again needed

to make better use of our chances.

FC Britannia;

December 2014 - March 15

FC Britannia;

The Squad

How are the YP's doing!?

From batch 1 Clint Wilson continues to score goals.

Batch 2 and Pete Stern lives up to his name when it comes to defending.

.. And Alex Wordsworth provides great cover for our defense.

We have only lost twice - Both times to Gibraltar Phoenix (the other Semi Pro

team). To retain the Title we are going to need them to slip up against other

teams and us to hang onto that 3 point advantage, i'll be happy to take a draw

in our final game against them.

League Table.

Transfers - Brought in our original star player from when i took over the club, Jonno Watts.

International matches;

March

Away vs FYR Macedonia - Friendly

They dominated really, but we managed to get two goals from our 3 shots on target

a good return.

Away vs Slovakia - ECQ

One of the best teams in our group, we were always going to get turned over.

We have hardly move in the FIFA Rankings, just dropped to 209 ...

a goal!?

2nd leg - No then!

International;

World Cup 2018 Qualifying Groups are drawn .. Can we go to Russia!?

Group 5 - Italy, Bosnia!? and Austia!? Ouch. Bring on Luxembourg!

I predict 3 points, lets hope for a victory over Lux.

June

Home vs Austria

Always going to be an hard game, but got to be fairly happy with the 3-0 loss,

could of been more since we lost 8-1 at their place.

Home vs Ireland

4-1 loss, could of been worse.

August - November 2015

International;

August

Home vs Namibia - Friendly

Went more attacking for the win as it was a Friendly, but we couldn't take the lead,

and they beat our defence too easy once we didn't have 10 men behind the ball ..

4-2 loss.

September

Away vs Estonia - ECQ

Not as close as it looked, 3-1 loss. We were lucky it was that low.

Home vs Slovakia - ECQ

We couldn't get a single shot on target. 4-0 loss, well deserved.

October

Away vs Georgia - ECQ

It seemed like an absolute thrashing was coming .. I just never

expected it to be this game. We actually had 2 decent chances,

but we were destroyed and they seemed like every shot they had

they would put away, our biggest ever defeat 11-0 loss.

Away vs Ireland - ECQ

Played a little better, helped that they couldn't get anything

on target, 2-0 loss.

November

Away vs Lithuania - Friendly

Would of liked to of gotten something a little better here,

lost 6-1 Langford (FC Britannia) scored our goal.

Away vs Belarus - Friendly

We need to be playing smaller nations, we were lucky it was

only 3-0, they should of and could of gotten 5/6 .. And we

looked like we wouldn't of scored if we played for 90 hours.

FIFA World Rankings: Rock Bottom!!!

December 2015 - March 2016

International;

No International matches ... But lets take a look at how safe my job is!?

Still 210th in the FIFA Rankings.

FC Britannia;

We kicked off the season with two 2-1 wins over Lynx FC, 1 in the League and the

2nd in the Pepe Reyes cup - Third time in a row. We picked up another 2-1 win in

our 2nd league match, before picking up our first loss of the season against

Gibraltar Phoenix (who are turning into our bogy side ..). 8 games unbeaten after

that and the title looks like it will be ours again. With 3 games left we are 7 points

clear (we managed to get some measure of revenge over Gibraltar Phoenix with a

3-1 victory on Boxing day).

Transfers - None in, a few more Loans out. I have taken up a tactic of accepting

any Loan offers for any of our players just to hand them games.

Champions League Draw: FC Levadia Tallinn - Possibly our toughest game in Europe yet and if we get through that match, we have Sparta Prague!

Champions League Qual. rd 1, Leg 1;

Away vs Levadia

The idea was press them, use our fitness advantage, since they are just

coming back from pre-season and try to tire them out. Would you believe

it worked!? We snatched a 2-1 victory. Our first ever win in europe.

Home vs Levadia

We went same again, knowing they needed to score 2, we went all out

defend backs against the wall and just keep on pressing them ... They

were barely able to get shots on target, our defence deserve medals

and we got a 0-0 draw. Through to the next round ... Bring on Sparta!

Away vs Sparta

A lacking match fitness Levadia side, compared to a gaining fitness,

quality Sparta side .. No comparison, we got hammered!! 10-0!

Home vs Sparta

We went 3 down in the first half and i decided to throw caution to

the wind and go for it in the second, win that 1/4 as it were. 3-2

loss. 2-0 win final 1/4 ...

International Match;

Home vs Ethiopia

They were easily the better side, we tried to counter attack them but couldn't

get off enough shots.

August - November 2016.

Internationals;

August

Home vs Liechtenstein - Friendly

Going for easier friendlies now for a while, but we just couldn't take advantage of the

game. We had more possession but lost 3-1 anyway.

September

Away vs Bosnia - WCQ

We managed to score 2 goals ... And lost 10-2, crazy.

Home vs Luxembourg - WCQ

So, so close to stealing a draw, they had more of the possession, much more

chances but we managed enough shots .. But just came short at 3-2.

October

Away vs N. Ireland - WCQ

The score was about right, we were never on the cards to get anything from

this game, 5-0m loss.

Home vs Italy - WCQ

See above. We did okay, to keep the score low. 4-0 loss.

November

Home vs Faroe Islands - Friendly

We did it! We got our second ever International victory, 1-0 win well deserved!

Up 2 places now in the FIFA Rankings.

I started playing with Gibraltar too. International football is so frustrating. Just lost by 9-0 to Ukraine!

Was that Home or Away? I lost 11-0 Away lol. I'm hoping once a few more clubs turn Semi-Pro we'll get more Training for the players and better improvements, which needs more money - Which will come with playing in Europe. I'm losing about $9k a month at Semi-Pro but even losing in the first round of European competition gives me enough to pay that for the year. Yeah i was so happy with the win over Levedia i honestly thought they would beat us bad.

When you won Rock Cup beating Gibraltar U-15 in final, Did Gibraltar U-15 played in Europa League?

Let's hope in 5 years you will qualify into Europa League Group Stage:) You must beat 3 teams...

What about Gibraltar U-21 and U-19. Did they play in UEFA Qualifications?

Thankyou, i'll start putting the 2nd Division tables up as well, not sure why i haven't thought of that before. Also i think i should start putting up the progress of the other Gibraltarian clubs in Europe.

Gibraltar U-15's can't mqualify for Europe, their spot when to the club finishing 3rd in the Premier.

Thats going to be tough if the hammering Sparta gave us is anything to go by.

Really enjoying the thread, be good to see the progression in the European competitions. Is there a chance i can have the database you created ?

Sure, here it is. I didn't create it by the way i just edited zeus77's original file as it wasn't working for what i wanted (The Europe problem and Chelsea FC being missing from Division2). IF zeus77 isn't happy with me giving out his original file i'll remove it immediately.

Did you add real players to the teams ?? This looks brilliant

Gib player to add already in database Adam Priestley

http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/farsley-striker-plays-for-gibraltar-23699/

I didn't, i just don't have the time to make a full database these days (used to and really wish i did now ..). It's also a little late in the game for FM13 databases i think. I wasn't even planning any data editing at all but when the qualifying for Europe problem arose i was too invested in the idea to quit.

Glad that the DB is stable at last, must have been frustrating as you seemed really keen to do this save. Hopefully as the division rises you can get a few better draws in Europe, thankfully your finances are at a decent level for a club that size but getting through to a group stage of a comp will do wonders in terms of being able to afford upgrades

Thanks. Yes i was, i'm a big of a keen follower of Non-FIFA football and have picked up information on Gibraltarian Football over the years so was very excited when they got the 54th UEFA spot. Our finances are great thanks to playing in Europe, we lose quite alot over a season (around 10K+ a month) but pull it all back with the European fixtures. Not playing i Europe would be a disaster for us, so the other clubs who are switching to Semi-Pro i'm keeping a very close eye on.

Your enthusiasm for this save really shows in your posts and now you have said about following of non FIFA clubs it makes sense to see why you chose to do this instead of some other random country. You are clearly making some kind of progress, but obviously it's going to take time. You only have to look at the Welsh career threads on here to see just how hard lower nations can be to get at a level of being able to compete with the big boys so this is going to be an even harder task and one i'm looking forward to seeing how it develops :thup:

The only time i earned a point in the international stage is when somehow I managed a draw against San Marino. My players were even worse than San Marino's. :p Now Anthony Hernandez, one of the best players of Gibraltar retired because he couldn't get a club. More trouble for me!

Apart from Gibraltar Phoenix, is there any other club who became semi-pro? And another question, is it not possible to do match prep training with amateur clubs?

Oh it's going to take time just making it into the Champions League Group stages (if i ever) and on the International front we'll be lucky not finishing bottom of groups - I'll consider that a huge achievement.

Yeah Hernandez always retires, it's a shame. Probably be better sticking him in one of the Gib clubs (since he will be playing back in Gibraltar this season, not sure who for though). All Top tier clubs (bar Lynx who have still managed to finish in the top 3 every season bar 1) are Semi-Pro, no teams in Division 2 have made the jump yet. I'm pretty sure you cant do prep training, i know training is limited at Amateur .. Could be wrong though i have been Semi-Pro for 4 years now :)

August - November 2017.

International matches;

August

Away vs Wales - Friendly

Not too bad a result, kept the score to 2.

September

Away vs Luxembourg - WCQ

Luxembourg are pretty high in the FIFA Rankings right now so i never

expected much here .. We grab a 1-1 draw!

Home vs N. Ireland - WCQ

A crazy game, we were never likely to win but we did manage to score

2 goals ... In a 7-2 loss in my 50th International game.

The Luxembourg draw must of helped us here - FIFA Rankings

October

Away vs Italy - WCQ

Lost 6-0 in a pretty standard defeat.

Away vs Austria - WCQ

Kept it to 3-0, not too bad really.

November

Home vs Lithuania - Friendly

We should of maybe kept the score lower, beaten pretty easily.

Away vs Malta - Friendly

Only lost 2-0 but were never in danger to Malta really.

FC Britannia;

Transfers - Alot of Loans out again.

The idea is fill the first team, then the Reserves and Loan everyone else

out. Always thinking any Loan offer over.

The Link between us and Sporting Club is terminated as we are now in

the same division after their promotion.

Bad injury before the season even starts.

Fancy a flutter!?

Season tickets are up ...

Junior Budget Increased and Youth Upgrade planned.

January Transfer window - Just a few more Loans out.

Title won already - Premier Division Table.

International;

Home vs Turkmenistan - Friendly

Wow, that is a massive massive result. They had more possession but we made the

most of the possession we got and won 2-0, great result, hugely pleased with the

clean sheet. - Just take a look at who we beat!

New FIFA Rankings.

Euro Qualifying draw - Group B.

I'm going to be brave and predict we will finish above San Marino.

Since Gibraltar has been playing International football now officially for over 5

years, lets take a look at who has been capped the most.

Let's hope next season you'll qualify into 3rd round!

PS. College Cosmos reserve team is missing from Reserve League.

Thanks, we'll see .. The second round is loaded with tough teams, i'm just happy with the money at this point in time and continuing to make it into the second is acceptable.

I didn't make the original data, but i am shocked i hadn't noticed that there was a reserve team missing (i have the Gibraltarian FA's website bookmarked as well).

April - July 2018.

FC Britannia;

So with the Title already won i could put my full focus on The Rock Cup,

there is no way we are slipping up with it this year. Boca Juniors (3-0),

Hound Dogs (8-1) and Gibraltar U15's (1-0) all fall to us on our way to

the final. We face Gibraltar Phoenix in the final - 10 days after we beat

them 6-3 in the League's final game.

The Youth Facilities Upgrade begins... Putting us in debt, but i'm hoping getting into the second round of the Champions League Qualifying will give us enough money to let us see out the Season in the black.

Club Co-Efficients - Nations Co-Efficients

Qualifications Places

1st Qual. rd draw: Tarxien Rainbows FC (our 2 Maltese players get to go home for a match, great draw).

If we get by TArxien we face an extremely tough game against CFR Cluj

1st leg, Home vs Tarxien

Great win, i think i can afford to play a weaker team second leg.

2nd leg, Away vs Tarxien

.. And even with a weaker team playing we scrape through with a 4-3 victory.

8-4 on agg - Awesome! - Bring on Cluj!

2nd rd, 1st leg. Away vs Cluj

The score was kept low, but in truth we could easily of been hammered. 2-0 loss.

Can we steal anything in the 2nd leg!?

2nd leg, Home vs Cluj

They hit 12 on target and we barely manage to create a chance, very tough game. Lost 3-0.

Internationals;

Away vs Albania

A tough game but we keep the score at a fairly respectable 3-0 loss.
