soccer.joel
on most of my saves on FM13 teams have come back to training on 85%+ condition but this one team seems to always come back with70% or below? Is there a way to fix this. They had 6 weeks off season.
podunkboy
Cut them back to 4 weeks of off-season? (The Scottish Premier defaults to 4 weeks, and yet I always have 3-4 players who come back requiring 1-2 more weeks of rest and recovery.)
FrazT
You are given a choice when the sqaud goes off for the end of season break, so shorten the time off as suggested above. This should decrease the amount of condition lost and give you an extra time to get tham back to 100%. You can also change the default training as soon as they come back. Herbert Fandel
Are there any cons to bringing them back ASAP? I've never seen a player unhappy their holiday was too short
Guarnere
Are there any cons to bringing them back ASAP? I've never seen a player unhappy their holiday was too short Not certain, but I take it they'll be tired quicker.
Herbert Fandel
Not certain, but I take it they'll be tired quicker. That does make sense, but equally the whole point of pre-season is to build their fitness? Maybe increased risk of being jaded or soemthing? or having 'need a rest' status? The 'need a rest' status was primarily what I was aiming at, sorry for being unclear. I have so far used the 5-week pre-season pretty much every season and only get the Rst status in the beginning of the season where I play many cup matches besides my regular league games. Wonder how this compares to others. Do have to consider this will probably also be affected by your fitness training/coaches and training facilities. Mine are all kinda crappy as I'm only in the Blue Square North..
soccer.joel
Thanks everyone. Seems my thinking was wrong I thought their condition increased when on holiday so giving them a long one would help them have better condition but evidently I'm wrong
KevMaaan
You could always change the weekly training focus to "fitness", arrange ALOT of friendlys and rotate you squad alot pre-season. That should slowly but surely raise match fitness on top of helping your team get familiar with the tactics again.

lam
Condition is primarily affeted by regular games. To many and it drops, to few and it drops. Thus, off season with no games means it drops. Lots of friendlies help raise it.
Sikker
I haven't seen any difference besides condition if players return early or late from holidays. There's a bug in the Italian serie A if your youth team gets invited to play in the South American nextgen league your team including all youth+senior players will return from holidays around 20th June. The senior players are usually fit so you don't need to play many friendlies before official matches kick in. Youth players are on lousy condition, though. Probably because they usually have just played a lot of u19 and u21 nt games. For some reason this doesn't affect senior players the same way.
