Pitalo
Samsunspor December 2014 1 December So the board felt that I needed a reminder or expectation change for the remaining season. Since we're doing great I set the expectation a bit higher then I did at the beginning of the season. I told the board I believe we can chase for promotion. And a slight reminder of where the money is going the next couple of decades. 1.Lig Hatayspor stopped our momentum and form for a bit. They certainly played better football then us. Right after this game I made a change in formation. No more AMC, although it did work so far, but it made us very unstable since our midfielders are struggling. I decided to go with a DMC and it proved to be a good decision. Not only are we looking more solid, we stopped conceding too many goals. 1461 Trabzon was a close one, winning in the last couple of minutes thanks to my set pieces. and the win against Caykur Rizespor was just a solid good performance. So we're halfway the season, we all have played 18 games and crazily enough we're on top with a 6-point lead. It's all thanks to inadequete behaviour from title favourites that we're on top. Boluspor, Istanbul BBSK and Bucaspor all failed on too many occasion to show what they are really worth. Giving us the chance to come up top. Turkiye Kupasi This game we've played in the old formation with an AMC. Boluspor is a title favourite and a much better team then we're. The showed us they are a class act and overrun us. We took the lead though with a penalty, but after that it all went downhill for us. We managed to get on equal ground thanks to Zorlu, but it didn't much matter. The second half was a bad performance and ended our little cup-fight this season. Now I can concentrate on the league and hopefully it will pay-off. What's to come in January January is filled with games for the Turkish Cup, since we're out of the Turkish Cup we only have 2 league games left. Not the hardest of opponents and 2 wins seems logical to me.

Pitalo
Samsunspor January 2015 1.Lig Just 2 results and nothing much to say than we did exactly what I expected us to do. A win against Ofspor, which was a good display for us and then do poorly on an away game against Iskenderun D.K. Away games are getting more difficult now and changing the season expectation did give the opponents more resilience toward us. Hopefully it won't be a big mistake on my part to go for promotion. Still it's only January and much football has to be played. 6-points lead on Istanbul BBSK. There is a real battle on for 2nd position. Only 9-points divide no.2 with no.15! After a half year I can say this competition is really mad. I can beat Super Lig teams and high profiled teams, yet lose the next game against no.17 in the league. Not only ourself saw this issue, but rival teams as Istanbul BBSK, Bucaspor and Adana D.C. underwent the same. Only 14 more games to go, things look promising for us. Pressure and complacement are our only 2 biggest enemies and hopefully I can guard my players against these issues. We do need to improve on away games. On the other side, if we keep winning at home, opposition keep losing, there isn't much to worry about. What's to come February No easy games here. Hopefully we can manage to get a 50-50 deal out of this month. Winning 2 would please me, winning more or drawing 2 would make me enthusiastic for the title. Pitalo
Samsunspor February 2015 1.Lig Well I did claim to be enthusiastic for the title now and I am, but we only create a cushion for the next 2 months. I'll explain later why that is. It was unfortunatelly that we drew all the away games this month, but I am happy in how the formation works out. I feel much more in control and it all seems more balanced and stable. Ali Yakup has been on fire scoring 4 goals and the wins at home were somehow a bit predicted. The games away, which we drew, are easily explained. We're simply not good enough. There is still much work ahead for me, but lacking true quality things might seem difficult. However, this month proven to be golden, the team did great and met my expectation. Still 6-points ahead on no.2. Funny to see that this time it's a different no.2. Adana D.S. has taken the spot and although Istanbull BBSK are one game short, you can see there is a real battle going on. This will hopefully be in my favor. For now I can relax a bit, because next month is going to be hellish! What's to come March The March month is going to be a break it or make it month. All 5 games are top 10 opponents and some are really close to promotion spots. The game against Istanbul BBSK could very well be the title decider. Although there is 7 to 4-points dividing us, thing still can turn ugly for us. Hopefully we can keep concentration and win some games against promotion-favourites and rivals for the title. Pitalo
Samsunspor March 2015 1.Lig In the make it or break it month we lost twice and won 3. (missing on the image is the game against Tavsanli Linyitspor, which we lost 2-3) 1st game against Tavsanli was really poor and a bad case of over-confedence and complentency. We got counter-attacked from every corner in the field and we weren't able to make a fist or show any passion to win the game. We redeemed ourself giving a hell of a good performance against Boluspor. Boluspor knocked us out of the Turkish Cup and was a title favourite. Individually they have better players, but we showed them how affective my formation can be. The away game against Istanbul BBSK was a good one. Both teams fought for every inch on the pitch, too bad we aren't clinical in away games and Istanbul BBSK showed they were the better team at that moment. A win could've settled things once and for all, but it wasn't to be and there are some hard working months ahead of us. With an amazing come back against Bucaspor and Akhisar the team showed me they've growned in the last half year. Disappointment was cast aside easily and the lads went straight to goal after the Istanbull BBSK game. Maybe things do look shiny behind the horizon. From 7 points ahead, to just 3 now. Things are getting really exciting. I see that promotion can't slip away from us now. The gap between us and no.3 is simply too big, with only 5 more games to go. It's only the title that needs to be settled. Will it be us or Istanbul BBSK? Youth Intake Nobody stands out in this year youth intake. No contracts were given. 15 March Ok, the new chairman is no tycoon, but he cares enough about the club to let the money roll when it's needed. What's to come April It could all happen really quick in the April month. Hopefully it will decide who get champions and who goes home with just promotion. Pitalo
Samsunspor April 2015 1.Lig A perfect month! We even beat no.3 and no.4 in the league. The win against Goztepe was impressive as we played away and got a clean sheet. 5 April 12 April 16 April 19 April Game after game we've got some good news! after the win against Adanaspor we've secured play-offs and winning against Goztepe ment we've won promotion. Winning against Unyespor got us champions! 26 April The chairman second injection. I wonder where he get's his money from. What's to come May 2 meaningless games. We're already champions! Pitalo
Samsunspor May 2015 1.Lig The last 2 games where easily won aswell. There was no more pressure and I thought the lads were more busy with planning their vacation, but they really stuck in there and got 2 good results. And this is how the last month panned out. Goztepe got promotion thanks to there good run in the promotion play-off games. We've went on to have a 11-point difference with Istanbul BBSK. Now it's time to celebrate and look back on an excellent season. 11 May The last game against 1461 Trabzon saw us breaking multiple records.
Pitalo
Samsunspor Credentials 2015 18 May The board was still on a buzz about the championship. The buzz might be induced by alcohol, but I'm not quiete sure. 26 May 2 players made it to the Team of the Year. They absolutelly deserved to be there and I believe that the selection should've had more players in it from us. My first award! It's always nice to get recognition for your hard work. He made the Team of the Year and also won Young Player of the Year. Very impressed by this youngster. 6 June Say what?! For the first time in many years I got spotted early on by bigger teams. Arsenal Kiev got relegated to the second tier of Ukranian Footbal, and after delaying them for a week first I declined. The prospect of playing second tier in Ukraine isn't and wasn't tempting. Pitalo
Samsunspor Credentials 2015, part II 8 June New sponsors and increased sponsorfees. Always happy to welcome money 9 June So we've actually made a profit over the last season. No doubt the cash injections from the new chairman has something to do with it. 20 June Fans player of the Year and best eleven. Season expectations were realistic as I hoped them to be. I don't consider us to finish mid-table, probably battling for relegation, and so thought the board aswell. 1 July Also got offered a new contract wich I rejected. Since everyone is on a high at the club I felt this is not the time to negotiate a new contract. Besides that, I already did the job I was hired for, so this season will be a bonus for Samsunspor. Pitalo
9 July 2015 I am not quiete sure what to say. I remember LEMANS FC as a decent club, who has had their spell at the Ligue 1 and is known for it's youth academy. I consider LEMANS FC really as a step up from Samsunspor, not to mention the money is good, my salary increased by 390%. And the club has a healthy philosophy where as I have to use youth players from the academy. All this considered, I accepted the offer.

Pitalo
LEMANS FC Introduction LEMANS FC has had their brief spells at the Ligue 1. About 6 years they've played it. They play Ligue 2 now since 2010 and not promoted since. LEMANS FC is a merged club from 2 teams in Le Mans, where the 24h races take place aswell. I knew LEMANS FC as a club who has a great youth academy and tight connections to there African colonies. Gervinho and Didier Drogba has been playing for LEMANS FC and hopefully, I will bring forth some more talents. Le Mans isn't situated far from Paris. It's about an 1 to 2 hour drive away from it. Tours, Orleans and Laval are considered local rivals to the club. Here are 2 excellent pictures of the futuristic and beautiful new stadium of LEMANS FC. Recently built in 2010 and on the same site as where the 24h. race finds place. Pitalo
LEMANS FC Pre-Season 9 July So I left for LEMANS FC. And I arrived just in time to see where we stand in the league. The pundits don't have high hopes for us and after my first assesment over the squad I have to give them so credits for being spot on. Friendlies The fixtures as they stand. The result over the friendlies. Ligue 2 The fixtures played in July, a very early start to the competition. 24 July My first game to the season. Results to the start of the season. We went off on a flyer, winning 2 out of 2. I am totally not familiar with the ligue 2, but having started as we did is very welcome. In my selection I have only 6 players older then 24. The rest is younger then or 20. I predict a very fluctuating season. 2 wins means being on top of the rest. It's too early to call us favourites for promotion. My predictions would be mid-table, somewhere around the 6th spot. What's to come August Coupe de la Ligue We had a forunate draw. We play against GFC Ajaccio, a national league team. This is not going to be easy. I consider only Red Star FC as a team we can beat, we have to be a bit lucky to win against the other 3.
joshpmilton
Hopefully I do well at LEMANS FC, nice to know I made you excited Yeah forget what I said earlier. I knew they were in a bit of trouble but it turns out it's a lot worse than I thought. After an appeal they've now been relegated to the sixth tier (the lowest on FM is the fourth tier) due to financial irregularities - €14.4m missing apparently. Probably won't be playing as Le Mans for a few years yet!

Probably won't be playing as Le Mans for a few years yet! You have to be kidding me! ... Based on the finances I have available I know they're in a pickle, but didn't know they missed 14.4M! (sidenote: The chairman owns a chain of high end hotels). I don't think I'll be playing LEMANS FC on FM14 aswell, let's make this a good one then
Pitalo
LEMANS FC August 2015 Ligue 2 After a terrific start of the season, August went a bit sour. Still trying to work out a good formation and get used to the type of football played in France. Stade Lavallois was a bad game, but with the 4 players injured over the age of 24, I needed to use reserves at the age of 16/17. The result speaks for itself. AJ Auxerre we got a bit lucky, coming back after being down 2-0. There was more to win, but that wouldn't be fair contrast to the game. The same happenend to En Avant de Guingamp. 2-0 down and a very late equaliser. The Red Star FC game made me proud of the players. It seem they majority of them finally understood what went wrong and adepted the game. After 6 games, it's getting more clear where teams stand at this point of the season. We're being 6th and we can easily go up or down the league ladder, next month should show us where we really stand. Coupe de la Ligue After beating GFC Ajaccio we drew Montpellier SC. The funny thing is we played both this games in August and it kinda slipt my mind. So I only have the Montpellier result to show for. GFC Ajaccio was beaten with 3-1, fairly easy. The Montpellier result was a different story. Montpellier SC is huge favourite for the title in Ligue 2 and they're a class act. The showed me how good they really were and beat us. French Welcome to a new section of this update. I decided to sum up a word that explains the last month for me, I'll be doing this in French, so we can all brush up our French. The word: Nouveau - New The competition felt new to me and so did the players. It's taking some time for me to adjust. Playing in French takes a whole other approach then Germany or Turkey. What's to come September Still no easy games, playing against Tours FC as no.1 in the league and local rivals to us. I expect the Bastia SC game also to be a tough game. Further more the transfer market closes in September.

Stalled a bit after a good start. Yes, unfortunatelly I have a very young squad and ups and downs are a part of it I suppose. Hopefully September will bring us some good results. Pitalo
LEMANS FC September 2015 Ligue 2 September has been an excellent month! Not losing once in the league and decent results against Tours FC and Bastia SC. The FC Metz game was amazing as we were trailing them by 0-1, but the final 10 minutes got crazy. FC Metz had a very good start to the game and scored on their only chance of the game. After that they defended resilient, untill the last 10 minutes, where they caved after the pressure. I expected more from the Evian TG FC game, but they proved to be a pushover. 10 games in and we're sitting 3rd. I am happy to say that at the end of the season, but this is an excellent start for LEMANS FC. Tours FC and Montpellier HSC are better sides at the moment and I think Montpellier HSC are a class act. Lahaye has been absolutelly fabolous at the back and rightfully deserved to be called Player of the Month September. 12 September I got nothing to add to this Word of the Month enthusiastic - enthousiaste The last games made me feel excited about what's in store for LEMANS FC. We're an inexperienced team with lot of youngster, but we're showing glimpses of class. What's to come October 5 fixtures scheduled for the month October with some serious opponents. FC Nantes and Montpellier HSC are games that stand out for me this month.
Pitalo
LEMANS FC September 2015 Transfer Update Out None of these players were sold by my hand, so I have no record over them. In Thomas Didillon - Tranfer free goalkeeper recommended by the scouts. We're in need of an extra goalkeeper and I thought he could make a perfect reserve keeper. Dylan Douay - Transfer free youngster with major potential. No big salarycontract but with some years on it, give this kid some time and space and we'll have a good defensive midfielder. Lee Addy - Transfer free offered by his agent. I was in need for some back-up for the defence, but Lee is such a good signing he's going to get a starting position. Sophaine Boussebaine - Loaned from LOSC Lille. With left back position vulnerable with only 1 player. I needed a back-up player. Sophaine covered the basic stats and was free of charge. Sidy Kone - Loaned from Olympique Lyonnais. Having 1 player over 30 in the midfield and the rest is younger then 20, you can imagine I needed experience. Sidy is proving to be absolutelly a fine acquisition to the squad.

Pitalo
LEMANS FC October 2015 Ligue 2 A month with ups and downs. Clermont Foot was obviously a down for us. We've been lucky on occassions and our luck striked out against Clermont. But we recovered decently on the next games with a huge up for us against Montpelliers HSC. We really had a game were everything went right. We created enough chances and converted them really well. Montpellier HSC were only dangerous on the break, but never able to give us a proper worry. Still flying high for a team expected to finish mid-table. It's all really thight up in the league. A win, draw or a lose could mean a total different position and nothing is set at this stage of the season. Tours had a little downfall and Nancy fell up the league. Next month it could be all different and that really makes this league appealing. 25 October I don't know how, but the chairman was able to boost finances a bit. 575k Euro isn't small change in my opinion, but seeing we're still in the reds for over 4M. Euro it's meaningless. Word of the Month Inconsistent - Inconsequent I think this sums up the past month perfectly. Consistency is something to strife for and should be the aim for the remaining season What's to come November Ligue 2 3 games against former Ligue 1 teams. Not sure what to expect here, hopefully we can keep momentum after the Montpellier HSC game and keep winning. French Cup Non-league Stade Francais is our opponent. A fairly easy game in my opinion. Pitalo
LEMANS FC November 2015 Ligue 2 A good solid month for us. I knew RC Lens would be a tough game to play, but the lads did an admirable job. To my suprise we went on and won both the CS Sedan Ardennes and AC Ajaccio game. Both games we deserved to win. We're playing some good football at the moment and we're able to score the chances we're creating. It's not down to one man particullarly, but the whole team is pitching in. Seeing we're probably the youngest team in the league we're doing it very good. The last game lost is more then a month ago and if we can keep this up, I can't see why we won't make it as 3rd to promote to the Ligue 1. We're first in the league with Montpellier HSC. Key is not to get too excited about 1st place and remain realistic. We're doing a very good job at the moment, but it's hard to say if it's because we're that good or we had some luck on the way. This we'll find out in the next couple of months. Another defender who picked up Player of the Month. I don't emphasize on defence, but on attack. However, I do like it when the defence do their fair share of work and Lee deserved to be picked out. He's been outstanding last month. French Cup As I mentioned, it proved to be a fairly easy game against Stade Francais. We got 4-0 up in the first half and then we relaxed in the second half. Game was played anyway and I subbed my best players to rest for next month. Word of the Month The Best - Le Meilleur We're top of the league at the moment and play really good football, despite our average young age. This word sums up what we have achieved over the last couple of months. What's to come December Ligue 2 Only 2 games for the league. AS Nancy Lorraine is a difficult game, but I expect us to win over Chateauroux. French Cup Another non-league side. Another win?, I certainly think so! Brucehum
So, basically, what tactics are you using? Some standard formations with little tweaking? With lots of tweaking? joshpmilton
Fantastic first half of the season! Certainly look as though you could grab one of the promotion spots. I take it, it's just a straight three up/three down in Ligue 2/Ligue 1?
Pitalo
Well done moving into first. Cheers Deltablue! So, basically, what tactics are you using? Some standard formations with little tweaking? With lots of tweaking? Are you using mainly one tactic (4-3-3) or use 2-3 depending on opposition. Basically I use a Dutch 4-3-3 system, like Ajax is using in RL now. That's 4 defenders, 1 DMC and 2 CM, 2 Wingers and 1 Striker. I have been playing this tactics since Karlsruhe, with attacking mentality and a fluid philosophy. At Samsunspor I tried to play with an AMC, but that threw off the balance of the formation. I don't tweak much and probably always play this system. I do have a spare one lined up, but never use that. The only time when I tweak is at the beginning, when I'm not statisfied with they way we play. I never let my formation be determined by opponents, because I want to depend on our own strenght. Hope I covered most of your questions with some good answers Brucehum. Going very nicely in Ligue 2 indeed. Promotion looks to be a real possibility Cheers Elbilly, at this point I think one of the 3 promotion spots is possible, not the title though. We're way to inexperienced and I believe we're aren't the strongest team in the league. Fantastic first half of the season! Certainly look as though you could grab one of the promotion spots. I take it, it's just a straight three up/three down in Ligue 2/Ligue 1? Thanks Joshpmilton, certainly our biggest aim to get a promotion spot. And yes, it's 3 straight up and down in the Ligue 2. In Ligue 1 it's just 3 teams straight down.
Pitalo
LEMANS FC December 2015 Ligue 2 As predicted the AS Nancy Lorraine was a difficult game. No suprise us losing there. On the other hand we did recover ourself a bit with a win over Chateauroux. The inexperience of the team makes us really go up and down. When we sometimes play really well and win, the game after could be totally different. It's a positive in this month, as you can see with us recovering over Chateauroux. But we could beat AS Nancy Lorraine, but failed to do so. These up and downs will break us down in the longer run. A mid-table finish is still a realistic goal, with the odd-occasion to shoot for promotion. Still thight at the top of the league, but at the moment we're on a good spot. This is a realistic spot since the league has begun, we have been really good. Hopefully getting 3rd would be amazing with our squad, but mid-table is more realistic. French Cup Fairly easy game and won the game in the first half, after that we relaxed a bit. A bit too much as we conceded their only shot on goal. Word of the Month Youth - Jeunes I had to rely more on youth players this month, but the coped well. having 4 major injuries in the squad by the more experienced players I believe we did well. What's to come January Ligue 2 First game against local rivals Stade Lavallois. For us a have to win game, but seeing this is an away game, a draw will be fine. AJ Auxerre is a good team, despite their low ranking in the league. All in all not a difficult month, but there is no room to get complacent either. French Cup 9th Round not favourable, with an away draw against Le Havre AC. Not going to be easy, but certainly winable.
