janesy20
I find this thread really hard to believe considering you have started out as a Dutch Sunday League rep manager and seem to have immediately got players wanting to play for you. I spend alot of my time managing lower league teams and even then I struggle to finish anywhere in the league. You must have a damn good tactic In all seriousness this is great and I would love to start one...I just don't have the correct tactic that would appear as consistent as yours does. Brucehum
Just realised ... did you choose on purpose the photos of van Gaal, Hiddink and Rijkaard with those 'strange faces' they are making? Pitalo
You should be in the Champions League every season. I agree, we should, but the previous manager made a mess out of things. No decent midfielders or defenders, plenty of strikers and wingers though I find this thread really hard to believe considering you have started out as a Dutch Sunday League rep manager and seem to have immediately got players wanting to play for you. I spend alot of my time managing lower league teams and even then I struggle to finish anywhere in the league. You must have a damn good tactic In all seriousness this is great and I would love to start one...I just don't have the correct tactic that would appear as consistent as yours does. I came from a long way Janesy20, At Karlsruhe I had some serious problems motivating players, not to mention the players I bought or who I scouted. I really started at the lowest point. Conserning ther "right tactic" is something you have to jiggle about. I started with a 4-4-2 Diamond tactic, no succes. I left too much space in the centre. I switched to a 4-5-1 formation with a DMC and flat out midfield. I had some reasonable succes with it. It got me promoted to the 2.Bundesliga if I remember correctly. At Samsunspor I started to use a 4-2-3-1 tactic. But I didn't have the man power to balance out the space between the midfield and defenders and the I started using a 4-1-2-2-1 / 4-3-3 with wingers tactic. This tactic is certainly balanced. I don't score loads of goals, but I don't concede many either. In the past years my defenders have been outstanding in this tactic. I hope I helped you a bit with this info and I love the fact you find this thread good to read. Just realised ... did you choose on purpose the photos of van Gaal, Hiddink and Rijkaard with those 'strange faces' they are making? Two of them coached Barcelona, by the way. I kinda did. It seemed as they non-verbaly introduced themselves to you, the reader. Did you know Hiddink managed Real Madrid!? Best of luck in Romania Cheers B.W.G. Brucehum
Did you know Hiddink managed Real Madrid!? Yes. He was there for less than a year, if I recall correctly. The he went to Betis, and there he was even less time. He did not have too much luck here in Spain in his 2nd visit. He had been more successful at Valencia some years before. Basically, as them 3 have coached in Spain, I know them.

Pitalo
CFR Cluj January/February/March 2017 1 January 2017 I have been selected as manager of the year in the Ligue 2. Although I am not active anymore it's nice to be awarded for overachieving 9 January Although there isn't much money on the bank, I was able to realise this future improvement. It's going to help Cluj to string in better players and develop them. Liga I All the friendlies we've played went down smoothly. Only Unirea gave us some hard time. I was glad that we went on with our formidable form. Beating close rivals Rapid Bucharest. Unfortunatelly we couldn't beat Steau, but so couldn't they. I hope this won't be a too big of a bump for us in order to go for European spots. It's getting really exciting in the league. Only 4-points between no.1 and us. With 9 games to play anything can happen. We've been on a good form and hopefully the players will keep their concentration to the last whistle of the season. Youth Intake Youth intake this season is It was expected since Cluj never focussed on their facilities or youth program. I hope to bring a change in that philosophy. Accolades It has been a good month and we/I got rewarded for it. What's to come April Liga I I can see our winning streak going on, only tough battle will be against Dinamo Bucharest. But Dinamo hasn't been on fire recently.
Pitalo
CFR Cluj March 2017 Transfers In Only 1 signing and a superb signing it is. My scouts have digged this one up and I have to give credit to them Juan Ignacio Alonso - A superb signing. 2M euro in cash and within 12 months another 2M euro. He's going to be the rock my tactic will rely upon. Transfers Out I sold 2 unsettled players. They really wanted to go as they were promised to leave by the previous manager. I had no problem ditching them and score some money from it.

Pitalo
Good recovery, not far from the top. Cheers Deltablue, based on the matches we've played so far I am really suprised CFR Cluj did so poor. Pitalo
CFR Cluj April 2017 Liga I And here we are! still marching on with our great form. A perfect month with a narrow escape at Dinamo Bucharest. Ghita Vasaie, only 18, has been scoring 3 goals in 4 games. Is it too soon to say that the title is still up for taking? is it possible to do that? perhaps, another perfect month is a criterium to take it all. 2nd and only 3-points away of Steaua. The heat is on and I am taking every opportunity to make it difficult for Steaua. It looks like the month May is going to be the do or die month and Steaua isn't all that stable. I announced them on several occassions that they are title favourites. We have been so far behind them, getting here is a little miracle or good management. I prefer the latter. 30 April It's too bad the media is prefering defence over offence. Over the last 10 games we created over 15 chances and although finishing has been low, I rather think we're more offencive then defencive. Anyhow, I like the fact they call us "mean". Accolades A perfect month spells out a Manager of the Month award. Let's keep them coming, I really want that May award aswell. What's to come May The last 5 games of the season. It's the do or die month and honoustly I can smell trophy all over this month. In our recent form we're more then capable of exceeding the momentum over these 5 games. Just need everyone at one piece as the squad has been thin, no thanks to the previous manager.

Pitalo
CFR Cluj May 2017 Liga I It's another perfect month! The players just kept their concentration and went for it all, but was it enough?! Hell yeah! We did it... The pressure I build up was too much for Steaua and they obviously couldn't handle the heat. With a poor month they finished 6th in the league. 24 May Actually, we won the league with 1 more game to go. It's when we beat Sportul away 2-0. The last 2 months have been a real blur to me. Everything went perfect, players didn't have much problems adjusting to my tactics and a 2 perfect months in a row was amazing. Next season we'll be dead on favourites and with European games coming up, I need to strengthen the team, but the core seems good enough to cruise trough the league. Accolades Another Manager of the Month. I'll be giving these thing away for Christmas if I keep going like this. Only 143 points, not anywhere near top places. 1 June No money means no upgrade for our facilities, I really miscalculated how much money we would've made by winning the league and entering the Champions League. Pitalo
CFR Cluj July 2017 1 July No option for discussion. It's winning the league and nothing else. Somehow I can relate to this message from the board, as I feel the same way about how I want to see us finish in the league. The money I will be recieving during the season Supercupa Romaniei An excellent win over FC Brasov, it was never a tough game and an early goal made the hopes of FC Brasov fans diminish to zero. 16 july 19 july After having our plans ruined and cancelled, I decided to have a cheeky request, which got accepted by the chairman. I love to see a better youth facility at CFR Cluj. Hopefully more Romanian youngster will find their way up the rank. Liga I A massive win over Dinamo Bucharest and a perfect month showed me that CFR Cluj is ready for this season. 3 good wins in this month. I feel momentum has been picked up and hopefully we can continue from here. 2 games in we're on top of the league with Steaua. I think this is an early sign of what we'll see at the end of this season. Hopefully with CFR Cluj as 1st in the league. Accolades Even the pundits agree on our fine form. Player of the Month and Manager of the Month. What's to come August Liga I 2 massive games in this month, against Rapid Bucharest and Astra, who finished 2nd last season. Champions League We drew Sheriff in the 3rd round Qualifying. Sheriff isn't a massive team and I can see us win over 2 games. It all depends on how well we do at the away game.
Pitalo
CFR Cluj August 2017 Liga I Another great spell from our part, too bad we had a draw against Astra. We did beat Rapid Bucharest and we're going on with our fine form. We did beat Pandurii and CS Mioveni with some luck, but it never looked like we would lose the game. Already 3-points away from Steaua, who's going to be our closest rival this season. Champions League An apoligy from my part. I lost the screenshots regarding the Sheriff games. The away game was one by 0-7, with Nikita Desyatkov scoring 5 in the first half. Sheriff was never able to recover from this defeat and we went on a stroll. We won the home game with 1-0. After the wins we drew FK Austria Wien in the Playoffs. Winning this means going through to the group stages. I did save this screenshot and as you can see it wasn't an easy game. We beat FK Austria Wien at home, but certainly should've scored more. The away game had everything and I thank Ghita Vasaie for scoring on both occassions to see us through to the group stages and winning a massive 9 million Euros. 3 August Screenshot to actually proof Nikita scored 5. 5 August This wasn't any pleasant news. Hopefully Champions League is going to save us. Accolades What's to come September Liga I We head on full against Steaua. Is the title going to be decided so early in the season? Champions League This is the group we're in. I cried, because at this point I consider Celtic to be a better opponent then we are. First game in september is against Arsenal

Pitalo
CFR Cluj September 2017 Liga I Some good results and unfortunatelly complacement started to kick in after the good Steaua result. Otelul had the best over us and I really felt like this was coming, because we went on a great run. It was great to see the guys bounce back after the Otelul match against Viitorul C-ta. However I certainly would've liked to finish the game earlier. I can certainly say that our stature as club has grown in the last couple of months, because opponents really making an effort in defence. We sometimes conside clumsy goals when the opponent plays on the break. But only having a loss and a draw in the competition so far is good perspective to us. We're really getting some distance onto the second place, 4-points already and 5-points on Steaua. So far everything looking peachy and I am a statisfied manager at this point. Champions League It was a really poor effort from our part and we didn't have any answers to Arsenal gameplay. Wilfried Bony had a walk in the park and scored 4 goals this evening. Overall I feel we should do better, but in this group aiming for third is the best we can do. Cupa Romaniei Easy game against the reserves of FC Vaslui, only point is we scored 5 in the second half, first half was poor. What's to come Transfer Update
Pitalo
CFR Cluj September 2017 Transfer Out I had to sell my Fans Player of the Year. This wasn't a thing I liked doing, but the man simply had the nerve to request it and made it very clear to me he accomplished it all at CFR Cluj. I could've had 5M Euro in installments, but decided I'd rather had the cash. Somehow I did sympathise for Galabov and I thought he deserved a crack at German football, which will soothe him just fine. Transfer In Serge Wilfried Kanon - An excellent player on Bosman. Starting XI player Nikita Desyatkov - High hopes for this future star, also on Bosman and a starting XI striker. Stefan van Boekel - Great prospect for the future. My scouts did an excellent job in spotting this youngster. Starting XI player. Ruben Dario Pereyra - Another hot prospect for the future on a Bosman aswell. Not going to be a starting XI player, but second in command after Nikita. Mauro Caraceni - An excellent player who got presented to my by his agent. I couldn't say no for obvious reasons. Starting XI. Damien Jeannin - I needed defenders after Galabov left and this potential star made it easy for me. I had to sign this starting XI player. Radu Radulescu - A star in the making for Romanian football. Not sure if he's ready for first team football, but he's certainly getting a chance to at CFR Cluj. Robin"]Robin Yalcin - A good player who had instant quality and looking at the lack of depth in the squad it was no hard choice to pay 1.1M Euro for this player. Petar Brlenic - Lack of depth and instant quality player. 1+1 makes 2 What's to come October Liga I Not a hard month ahead of us, certainly feel that we should make most of things and have another good run in the league Champions League A tough Celtic game we should win in order to become 3rd in the group. Getting a result against Juventus would be a plus, but not expected to.

Pitalo
CFR Cluj October 2017 Liga I Some excellent results, an almost perfect month and another 3 games won. We're cruising through the league at this point. Champions League really makes my players have tired legs and I think we have a solid foundation this season. Rotation seems good, but I could use 2 or 3 more players. 6-point away from 2nd place Steaua and one more game in hand. It certainly seems like we're cruising through the league. I am pleased by the results and happy we're already ahead of competition. Champions League We beat Celtic! Which is a shock-suprise considered by many. I am just happy we made it happen. Too bad we couldn't draw against Juventus, but then again, we're not expected to do so. 7 October 200 games already, time does fly when you're having fun. Accolades What's to come November Liga I Another boring month, because I feel that we can extend our momentum in the league. No real opposition here, maybe FC Vaslui could shock us, but I don't think they will. Champions League Thinks look somber this month in the Champions League for us. Hopefully we can score a draw somewhere, but I don't see it happen. Cupa Romaniei I don't know much about CSMS Iasi, but I think we can make it to the next round. Pitalo
Good defence of your title so far. Radulescu looks worthy of first team action. Pitalo
CFR Cluj November 2017 Liga I A very shaky start for the November month. A heavy 0-4 defeat against a low flyer. A devastating result, but maybe the wake-up call the players needed. It all has gone too easily in the league so far. It's good to see that after a heavy result as that we did bounce back in a good fashion and started to win again. A good away win against FC Vaslui and a good month finisher agains FC Brasov. Nothing to really worry about, still first with a 5-point lead over Steaua and with a game in hand we have all the power in the league. Almost half way the competition and as things look, it seems we're definatelly title favourites. Champions League This was calculated, still not happy losing heavily against Juventus, but Juventus and Arsenal are miles away from us in class. Much to learn in Europe, only 1 game to go against Celtic, if we win that game we'll go on in the Euro Cup. Cupa Romaniei It looks as it was a close game, but in reality we dictated gameplay from start to finish. Scored too few, and the opponents scored a fluke goal. I don't want to make too much of a fuzz about this game, we're through to next round. What's to come December Liga I Home game against Dinamo Bucharest. Really want to beat them and get on with our fantastic momentum. Champions League We need to win this game, which isn't going to be easy. Cupa Romaniei A 2nd division team who had some luck in pushing through to the quarter finals.
Pitalo
CFR Cluj December 2017 7 December What can I say. I did mention CFR Cluj was a jumping board for me. PSV is in my eyes a big step up. Not to mention it's a chance for me to go back to my homeland and compete for titles, cups and Europe. PSV is so much bigger then CFR Cluj and as you might have learned from my previous experiences, I packed my bags and went on the first plane to Eindhoven. Pitalo
PSV Eindhoven Introduction PSV Eindhoven was born in 1913 as a means to give employees of the Philips company some way to excercise. PSV stand for Philips Sport Vereniging and has played at top level ever since. The silverwork is amazing at PSV, winning all leagues atleast once. As a Dutch football manager I follow PSV obviously and I've been a huge fan of them in my childhood. This was mainly caused by one great player in the late 80's, mid 90's. Romario simply stole my heart, although I lost touch with PSV, they always see to suprise me. I remember the golden years with Guus Hiddink and the recent slumb they have been into. Updated to 2017, things don't look bad at PSV Eindhoven. They've won their last title campaign and have a decent run in the Champions League. Eindhoven is situated in the south eastern region of the Netherlands and is quite a large city. Philips has their main facilities here and has been the highlight in the city for decades. The great Philips Stadium is located near a train station in Eindhoven and furthermore is an impressive stadium for Dutch standards. The stadium has a capacity of 41.000+ people and the chants:"Boeren, Boeren", have been really popular in recent years. Pitalo
PSV Eindhoven December 2017 7 December All the rumour, gossip and news you need to know about me leaving CFR Cluj for PSV Eindhoven. Eredivisie Only 2 games played in the December month, with excellent results. Claudio Zarate is a real gem and a future star with a 5-star potential and 4-star ability at the tender age of 20. He scored an amazing 5 goals against Ado Den Haag. Finishing the month of with a good result against De Graafschap. 15 games played, on top with only 1-point lead to Ajax. Fierce rivals and one of the title favourites. Seems to me this competition could be really exciting. What's to come January Eredivisie First game in the new year is against no.2 in the competition and close rivals to the title, Ajax! It's a home game and I have high hopes for us, the manager of Ajax has been installed in December aswell and left PSV for Ajax. Awkward? no silly, what do you mean awkward....
