forameuss
FM13 makes laptop hot, hot laptop makes fan go on. Not sure what else you can do without getting a new laptop or upgrading the fan - it's a good thing it's loud, otherwise it would melt
Rotterdam
FM is a very processor-intensive game. My PC has shut down a couple of times from overheating because I was running the game in combination with some other processor-heavy (relatively speaking) software (my fault, not the game's fault). I probably need to replace my thermalpaste on the heatsink of my processor.
podunkboy
I've had that problem mostly while watching the games, I just put it on 2D for the game and 3D for the goals (I like to see goals). And then when the game's simming the first couple rounds of the Scottish Cup (or any big national cup), it really whirs and howls. But my PC's almost 7 years old, so it's my fault. Liquid Cool
Mine got very hot and noisy as well, but I fixed it by going into the advanced power settings in Windows, and setting the "maximum processor state" to 99%. It supposedly disables Turbo Boost mode on the newer Intel processors, and makes the processor get less hot - at the cost of some horsepower, of course. ringwoodrob
:)I'm still only on FM2012 had no problems with overheating, but around March? this year had major problems with my CIV5 game,PC kept cutting out,the most it would last was around 10mins in the end,,my case fan was ok,what I did was,i fitted an old xtra fan on the inside of the side panel, this also had a mesh/vented area which was the ideal place, connected the cables to a spare red/black connector and I haven't had any problems since, even in the extreme hot temps of the last few weeks! Smurf
My laptop runs extremely hot and the computer fan is loud too. But it's not sufficient enough to cool the processor by itself when playing FM - perhaps it's the laptop model and design is not suited - but that's neither here nor there. I set up a desk fan beside the hottest part of the computer. Ensure enough air can get under and above the computer (I am use usb sticks to prop up the laptop) I have a laptop cooler which sits under the laptop and plugged into the USB port. I'm just short of playing it in the fridge! Without the side-desk-fan the interface, progression of games, and 3d game play progress at the rate of sloth! MrPompey
a quick tip - raise the laptop at the back say with a couple of pencils. This will allow heat to dissipate much quicker....sounds crazy but but does work
ScotchWhisky
You can buy relatively inexpensive USB fans to set underneath if you are using a laptop. If using a desktop, then don't worry about it. That's just part of playing most any computer game. Try to ensure if using a PC that your PC is not inside a desk and it is beneficial if it's not sitting directly on carpet either.
