Gorando
I had about the same thing happen recently except the ball went over the GK and my striker just had a simple tap in
JimbobWWFC
Did he throw it straight in or did someone touch it? I thought a goal didn't count unless someone touched the ball after the throw-in was taken

soccer.joel
That was best I've seen
LilSaint
I've had this happen before too, there's actually a couple of threads on goals from throw ins
Sikker
Unfortunately I have seen this many times before. I've also made a bug report about it. Hopefully it's gone in FM14.
blast126
Unfortunately I have seen this many times before. I've also made a bug report about it. Hopefully it's gone in FM14. That was the first time that happen to me and I have played about 130h. Doesn't seems too much frequent.
Sikker
No matter if you have only seen it once it's still a bug.
LilSaint
how is it a bug? As long as someone touches the ball before it goes in, it's a valid goal.
Sikker
Didn't you notice the ball physique? It's impossible to throw a ball like that.
LilSaint
unlikely, hardly impossible.
Sikker
Having in mind the rules about throw ins it is impossible to throw a ball that high and far at the same time. With that throw in he could have thrown the ball out of Camp Nou (almost).
LilSaint
prior to seeing this, I might've deemed it impossible too. [video=youtube;PQG5wJFlu-M]
Sikker
The ball gets nowhere as high as in the first video. Also the player in the first video doesn't make a roll.
JimbobWWFC
Isn't that throw-in illegal? It looks like his feet are off the ground when he lets go of the ball
LilSaint
The video was illustrational. Just saying, it isn't impossible. Extreme wind might've aided it getting that high. Ergo; unlikely, not impossible.
JimbobWWFC
I get it. I'm not the one you were arguing with; I'm asking whether that throw-in should be permitted.
LilSaint
my reply was directed at sikker, jimbobWWFC as to whether it's illegal: i don't know, it might very well be. I've seen very little comparable cases, and I'm sure the referees at the time hadn't seen many throw ins taken like that either
Sikker
No matter the wind or what argument you come up with it doesn't make a throw in like that possible. As I've said I've seen it happen several times and also seen it in closed stadiums where wind factor have no say.
JimbobWWFC
Hang on... not only was the ball height/trajectory totally ridiculous but it was also taken from a standing position. Although some freak of nature may get relatively close to doing the same, I think this is so outrageously difficult that we can pretty much all agree it would be impossible
LilSaint
hm, just now noticing he didn't even take a running start for that throw. That does make it virtually impossible I'd say. I stand corrected than, apologies.
blast126
I agree that the ball was too high, seems impossible to throw the ball like that. But throw the ball to that distance is very hard but not impossible. Bynia former Benfica player throws to that distance and Maxi Pereira, currently Benfica player is also capable of throwing to that distance. But none of then can throw that high.
Sikker
Yes, irl several players can throw that far. But often it's due to a bullet throw not a sky-high throw.

UUH
Had the exact same bug happen to me today: Even more strange was that the goal was disallowed for offside.
blast126
Had the exact same bug happen to me today: Even more strange was that the goal was disallowed for offside. The player that touches the ball was a little bit ahead of defensive line at the moment of throw, seems a good offside call.
Guest
You cannot be offside from a restart of play when the ball has exited the field of play, that means corners (for obvious reasons), throw ins & goal kicks.
endtime
I think the goal is disallowed for a foul on the player who falls over in that highlight, but the commentary is bugged.
jayatsena
Had the exact same bug happen to me today: Even more strange was that the goal was disallowed for offside. I also just get this in my game, and the strangest thing is the offside decision since there's no offside from throw in.
blast126
I didn't know that there's no offside from throw-in. I think it's a bug...
