ThomasCro
I don't understand the match engine all that well, so I'm asking some of you experts to try and improve my tactics. This is the first tactic, which is doing amazing: http://i.imgur.com/N2Ok8HT.png Now, this is the second tactic, I just let the ass man pick the roles, won my first game 2-0, but I guess it can be improved: http://i.imgur.com/CkJokes.png LMK if you need more info. Overmars
With Ronaldo and Messi in the lineup I think any tactic could work, regardless of whether the tactic is any good. I have yet to find anything work as well as a simple 4-4-2 in FM13, but I also never have this kind of talent on my side. From what I have seen with WBs, I am not impressed. I prefer using fullbacks or defensive wingers.
ThomasCro
The WB's actually make this tactic. Opponents usually have 0 shots on target. If I take them to FB, the opponents actually have a few chances.
Overmars
That first tactic, the 2-3-2-1-2 reminds me a lot of the super tactic in one of the CM3 games 10 years ago. What is your offensive aim with that tactic? Do you encourage your WBs to provide crosses to your forwards, or are you playing a short passing, through ball type of game? I've had much more success with direct passing in FM13 than I have with short passing. Also, does your DM see a lot of the ball? I considered using a slight variant to this tactic, with 3 CDs instead of 2 CDs + 1 DMC, but maybe it makes more sense as you have it.
Domus Clamantium
IMO in Tactic 1 you don't need Ronaldo to play in support as a CF because you already have Messi linking up the mids and forwards, plus Veratti is on support and will drift a little bit forward to help out as well. CF support is similar to DLF in this regard. They drop in and play with back to goal and drag defenders with them, laying off/flicking on to a strike partner or midfielder. Set Ronaldo as Attack to have have him stay forward and give Messi and your wing backs more options. Although Treq is Attack role it's a bit deceiving because they do primarily support forwards and link mids and forwards up.
ham_aka_stam
I consider Treq a Support role that doesn't defend.
ThomasCro
The anchorman breaks up almost all the attacks of the opposition, I found it better to have him. The WB's score goals as much as they assist, they are vital in this tactic. Looking to change both strikers to attack. I play a short passing, quick tempo, wide, back line pushing very high up and a lot of closing down. I am in January now and I have won ALL of my games. The players from my academy are starting to get first team play, so that's why i'm not bored with the game yet, I love seeing the fruit of my work dominate.
