The return of San Giovanni - San Marino Youth Challenge

Almost the same intro as them FM12 thread.

First off: What am I doing and Why am I doing this??

I am going through all the hardest challenges this game has too offer:

  • Take a team from San Marino to win the European Champions Cup
  • Use Youth Only, no signing ANY players
  • Take the National Team to the European Championships
  • Take the National Team to the World Cup
  • Win the World Cup & European Chamiponships

And why am I doing this?

Some of you may remember me for my attempt of this last year where I got to 2033 and then stopped, I can't remember why I stopped, but I did. In FM13 I've been rather unlucky with crash dumps and being unable to get into saves so I'm going back to my 'FM Home' San Marino.

There's only 2 months left until FM14 comes out so this will be my save up until FM14 and someone makes the San Marino league for FM14, this time I have included a transfer embargo on every club in San Marino so it won't just be me using Youth Only, but the entire nation of San Marino, there may be some loopholes but I think this will work and the league won't have to rely on foreigners to come through.

Which team will I be?

I will manage Societa Sportiva San Giovanni.

Why San Giovanni?

San Giovanni are the ONLY Sammarinese team too have NEVER won any silverware!

Yes! One of my very favorite threads! Excited to see your progress, the last one was brilliant.

Thanks Trilderos :D

Nice to see this. I was only re reading your first thread on this the other day

I was re-reading it too and thought it would be good to do it again :p

A classic returns!

Hopefully this one will be as good as the last!

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2012/13

League Table

League Positions Graph

Domestic Fixtures

A season of 2 very different halves, first half we could barely find a win, second half we couldn't stop and we play in the Champions League next season which I will thoroughly enjoy!

Coppa Titano - So close yet so far, thrashed Tre Fiori 4 - 1 in the Quarter Finals only to get beaten 2-1 in the Semi against Libertas.

Squad - We have a big squad with good attackers, we'll be losing our goalkeeper at the end of the season as he was already on loan when I joined the club so we're going to have to use a not as good backup which is a little worrying.

Finances - Finances were going down until we were given £25,000 for beating Fiorentino in the Final and £43,470 for our final position in the league.

Youth at the club:

Francesco Albani (YP1a)

Paolo Morri (YP1b)

Great first season mate well done
That's a surprisingly good start, keep it up.
Congrats on the title win and good to see you have a good run in Europe!

Thanks all! I'm amazed with our European adventure, especially with the standard of my players being so low!

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2012/13

League Table

League Positions Graph

Domestic Fixtures

Great season, managed to top the group and also overcome Tre Penne in the Final after losing to them in the Major Semi-Final.

European Competition - Worked absolute wonders in Europe beating NSI 5-2, Ekranas 7-1 before being demolished 10-1 by Red Bull Salzburg and eventual Europa League Semi Finalists Udinese 10-2.

Coppa Titano - Another loss to Libertas in the cup, this time in the Final.

Supercoppa Sammarinese - A cup where we actually beat Libertas, beat Fiorentino 4-3 in the Final.

Squad - Losing the star GK didn't do much to us but we do have a lot of players retiring at the end of the season so I'll try and get them as staff members.

Finances - Thank you Europe! We don't lose much money so this could potentially keep us going for more than a decade if anything bad were to happen!
