Player Value's have rocketed?

Recommended Posts

When I first played FM13 this year; the first thing I noticed was that everyone seems to cost a lot more (realistic). The first example being James Mcarthur (Wigan) costed around £13,000,000.

I'm currently doing a save as Ajax manager and have just finished my 2nd season. I won the domestic league and the domestic cup. All my players have suddenly increased in value! Now is this because of my success? or is it a natural occurrence within the game and has all the players increased?

If it is due to success; then is it worthwhile cashing in on the rotation players while there value are high?

It's tied into their reputation, so as that rises with success, good form and trophies they are seen as more desirable by other managers and clubs in the game, and so their value rises.

If you've spotted some exciting cheap talent you'd like to pounce on, if you're overstocked in one area of the team in a certain position, or if a player is valued far higher by the game than you do then sure thing, why not?

Well I suppose you could buy Gareth Bale instead for a knockdown £94 million :D

Also remember that teams not wanting to sell players, as Spurs above in real life, will demand outrageous prices to either:

a) put you off buying the player

b) rob you blind

Funny enough I expect if you have a host of sides interested in one of your players don't you raise the player value ;)

I had this happen too recently.

Playing as GKS Katowice in Poland, I've slowly grown into one of the best teams in Europe but my player values stayed extremely low. My best players were valued around £2M. I'd constantly get offers of less than £1M for players good enough to start in the Premier League. Plus they'd ask for really low release clauses which were a pain to negotiate out.

Then all of a sudden in 2025 it changed and the values went up to where they should be. My best player is now worth £14M and most of my starters are around £10M. Barca offered me £16.5M for my AMC that they used to want for £3M. Really a game changer.

I'm thinking it has something to do with club reputation. My club recently passed Ajax on the rep rankings so it must be somewhere in the 3.5 stars range where the game just decides your players should be worth a lot more. Kind of stupid.
