Leto2626
I'm making plans for a huge overhaul and checking everything before I start to prevent wasting time on things. I've encountered something that is crucial for the whole project : Logos or anything linked with new entries. Here's a quick summary of what I want to do : all the real competitions and clubs will be gone, all new will be created for every nation. So far so good, I can make this work. But then I came to the polish with club logos especially. As I will have several different new nation rules I won't be able to put everything into 1 database file, which is actually ruining everything. If you add new clubs in different files they all start with the same ID and when you throw them together the game works but the unique ID's of the clubs will be different every time a small change in one of the databases is made. Then I thought : I'll just add every team and competition in a separate database and make the nation rules separately, but as far as I know that's impossibile too because when adding new nation rules you need to start from a clean database and then all those added new teams won't be in it. Then I thought : there is still merging, but this won't work either as there are different nation rules and you can only edit 1 per database file. So my conclusion is : it's impossible to link logos to new entries in the database of you use more than one nation to create rules for? Am I missing something? I can barely imagine I'm the first one trying to make something like this.
krlenjushka
it is possible dont worry but you will have more work. you can merge database changes. editor gives new id for entries with same id. for ex. if you add 10 clubs in first file and add 10 clubs i second file you will have 2 clubs for every id. when you merge these two files editor will give second 10 clubs new id i hope you understand me because my english is not so good
Leto2626
Yes I understand but my problem is the nation rules. If I need to merge, every file will have the complete database changes and if I made a mistake somewhere I have to do everything again for every file, this is what I don't want to do Maybe I should replace teams and competitions instead of adding new ones, then the ID's are the same but it will be harder to keep track of it all, if there is another way I would love to know ! krlenjushka
no just make all database changes in one file. then add nation rules one by one and when you finish contact me and i will explain what you need to do
Leto2626
The problem is it will never be finished, there will always be somethign to change or add and I don't want to mess with merging because of that. Once I make let's say 5 nation rules based on 1 database I have merged with every time, what if I need to make a change to the original database, I need to edit it 4 times because there will be inconsistencies all the time and most of them even not easy to find. And that's 5 nations, I need 100...
krlenjushka
dont worry. you will have problems only if you change something about data that nation rules are use. dont delete competitions and everything will be ok
