conradhart
Does playing the offside trap simply get your defenders to step up as a unit or does it change your teams shape and strategy? I'd like to play a high defensive line to squeeze the midfield and close down space and was wondering if I should choose offside trap to make this happen. Conversely would choosing counter attack make my defence play deeper in order to create space further up the pitch to play long balls into?
conradhart
Does anyone have any idea?
Peely
I believe that the offside trap does push your defensive line higher. In contrast, if you turn it off, your defensive line sits lower, but engages in more man-marking. That's what I've heard, anyway. I'm sure someone from SI could give a bit more info. conradhart
Thanks Peely. I was hoping that would be the case. Be nice to hear from the SI guys just in case we're barking up the wrong tree.
