yeah id be gutted with that if we werent currently set to line up with scholes and fletcher.

take what you can get, why people seem to think we will be throwing £30m on a couple of midfielders i dont know. carrick will do more than fletcher does at breaking up attacks and is FAR superior in possession and distribution.

Another thing I was thinking watching the game the other night:

I hope we never see the need to mark our achievements by putting stars on our shirts just so its clear that we've won X amounts of leagues or European Cups.

We're Manchester United and our greatness is inherent in that fact.

I thought about that, but then Heinze at centreback isn't as good as Heinze at leftback for me and Rio's one of if not the most important member of the team.

On the subject, was Evra carrying an injury when he came off or just wasting time?

Kieron Lee was the only one who looked anywhere near the part against Crewe so the other lads probably have to do something special in training to get another crack.

And while the situation was difficult for the youngsters to get into it against Crewe I'll let them off a bit and push more for better attitude and application from out more seniour pros - Ole-style if you will...

Taz if we were to beat Blackburn away then things will be looking good, there's no way we should drop points against Sheff Utd, or Everton at home, if we were to beat Chelsea we'd be in a great position. They've got tricky games against Arsenal and Bolton. We could open up a 8 point lead if we win our next four, minimum 6 points, quite possibly 9/10 points. Then again I don't think we can take any match for granted tbh.

Exactly. On-target shot blocked in the box by an opponent's outstretched arm. It's a penalty all day long ffs. It's one you feel hard done by about because there's little the defender knew about it, but you can't stick your arm out like that.

There is a pub just down the road from the stadium, were Away fans can go before game. Its good in there, but away fans aren't allowed in after. Been there a couple of times, drinking outside, I doubt anyone will be outside next Saturday though.

I have been Villa Park a few times, when we won 2-1 in FA cup, 1-0 when Beckham scored early doors and the last game of the season a few years back when it was 3-0 iirc. We were able to control ourselves then, but when Alpay scored a last minute own goal equaliser we weren't, got kicked out. Was a bit stupid really, stewards escorting us out, it was the end of the game ffs, stupid brummies.

Up there with Lord Lucan and the Bermuda Triangle is the mystery of why David Jones was allowed to leave ManYoo for Derby in a £1m deal and Keiran Richardson is still at Old Trafford. Jones is a player who always seems to have energy to get from box to box and time on the ball when he wins/receives it. A set-piece specialist, Jones has been central to Derby's success this season, just as he was at Preston last year. He might well come back to bite Fergie on the arse (hopefully not literally) next season in the Premiership.
