24 hours? Like you said the other day, more like 6 weeks. And at least the world cup is providing a bit of a distraction for the next week and a half.

I suppose Ole could start after some good performances for norway, thought he was heavily off the pace against Watford.

As for midfield, I guess Carrick is going to be given the main defensive role, and O shea will just get in his way. But carrick/giggsy midfield doesnt have any bite to it. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I think it's perm two from three of Fletcher/Carrick/O'Shea. Carrick/O'Shea would be my least favourite, as it lacks any central midfield support for the front two, and as you said has Carrick and O'Shea sitting next to each other.

Carrick/Fletcher for me, as both will at least do a job defensively, and Carrick sitting and passing complements Fletcher getting up and back.

no he can't. and that's the point. because for every good performance, there's 4 or 5 duff ones to both follow and precede it, so forgive me if I don't ejaculate over a good performance against a spirited, but clearly inferior team. I've said it before and i'll continue saying it. He will never be a good player, let alone one worthy of the verbal semen that laughably gets spouted here until he consistently produces the goods. something he has singularly failed to do. the odd good game here, there, the easy games just isn't good enough.

at the same time, you could argue there's still a hell of a lot more to come from vida, which is a fantastic prospect considering the level he's at already. almost hate to say it as a big wes brown fan, but vidic/ferdinand already looks up there with stam/johnsen in terms of our best centre-back partnership since dolly and daisy, and both players are still a few years away from their peak. nemanja definitely seems to have brought the best out of rio - the latter's impressive form is easily overlooked in the rush to praise the former.

and to think it's only a couple of short months since people were comparing our love for the vidic to the hilarious scouse momo-wankery :*)

Owen Hargreaves insists he has no regrets about saying he wants to join Manchester United and is adamant he simply wants to leave Bayern Munich to experience a new league.

The England international expressed his desire to sign for United back in the summer after a solid showing at the World Cup finals in Germany.

Bayern stood firm and refused to sell the midfielder, who then suffered a broken leg during the early weeks of the Bundesliga season.

He is due to return to action in the New Year and Hargreaves has again reiterated that he is interested in moving to Old Trafford.

"I'm at a great, great club already," Hargreaves told The Times. "I don't think people in England realise what a huge club Bayern Munich is.

"I've never once said a bad word about Bayern and I never would. It's not about that.

"It's about the opportunity to possibly play in another league I haven't played in before, which is also the country I represent and where my family lives."

And while Hargreaves concedes his comments may have 'rocked the boat' he stands by his declarations that he wants to move on from Bayern.

He added: "I think I've probably already rocked the boat, to be honest.

"I received a lot of criticism for suggesting it would have been a great opportunity, but sometimes you have to say it.

"I don't feel bad about anything I said or did."

Hargreaves is also aware Sir Alex Ferguson may soon get fed up, concluding:

"Nobody at any club is going to wait for anyone for ever."
