Actually he did not. They both had the same number of goals.

I thought they both got the award (joint award?). </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

No, Forlan shared it with Henry. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

pretty much EXACTLY what i wanted. match deciding penalty won by and scored by ronaldo icon_biggrin.gif

fo middlesbrough, fo southgate

MotM:

1) Michael Carrick - sublime passing, thought he was excellent tonight

2) Gabriel Heinze - back to his swashbuckling best, really solid.

thing is, you could have ronaldo as man of the match for almost every game this season such has been his impact.

btw, fergie was absolutely RAGING at sky for their grilling of ronaldo icon_biggrin.gif

perfection. post match interview from ronnie has put him into the idol bracket for me. superb on so many levels.

nice to see sky trying to put him into a corner on the penalty and he smugly responded with his own brand of brilliance. pathetic that it brought so much debate as it was the most obvious contact possible to see but just makes me love the lad more to see him create so much ANGER :*)

rightly so, it was scandalous the way they went about it. fergie goes, 'i was absolutely disgusted with sky, they should take a good hard look at themselves' icon_biggrin.gif

basically what bling said about the interview, god i love ronaldo.

'when its cristiano it becomes a polemic' :***********)

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> FOSTER EYES VAN DER SAR SPOT

Ben Foster is desperate to be given the chance to establish himself as Manchester United's first-choice goalkeeper next season.

The 23-year-old, who is on loan at Watford and is in the England squad for the European Championship qualifier in Israel at the weekend, is to return to Old Trafford in the summer to do battle with Edwin van der Sar for a first-team place.

And although he rates Holland international Van der Sar as one of the best in the business, Foster admitted today it would be "a hard thing to take" if he had to spend most of the 2007-08 campaign on the bench.

"Edwin van der Sar is my favourite goalkeeper in the world, and he has been awesome this season," Foster told PA Sport.

"He would be quite an obstacle to move out of the way, although that [being a regular substitute] would be very disappointing.

"It would be a hard thing to take if it were to work out like that.

"I met Sir Alex Ferguson a few weeks ago, and the plan is for me to be back at United next season.

"He just told me to come back in the summer and to see how things go. If I am not picked, I will not let my head drop, but I will just try to prove my worth." </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Agree totally! Sort of interview that puts him up there in the "idol" category. He must be the most confident person in the world right now, you can see that in his performances and interviews. Long may he continue!

Also looking forward to Foster coming back next season, hopefully will be given a proper chance to replace VDS, doubt he's got many years left in him despite still being an imense keeper.

Southgate added: "He is a young kid and he will learn a lesson from that.

"We would all in that situation love to do what he did but you have got to be mature enough and hold your ground and make the right tackle."

Central Midfield: David Jones (Derby)

Up there with Lord Lucan and the Bermuda Triangle is the mystery of why David Jones was allowed to leave ManYoo for Derby in a £1m deal and Keiran Richardson is still at Old Trafford. Jones is a player who always seems to have energy to get from box to box and time on the ball when he wins/receives it. A set-piece specialist, Jones has been central to Derby's success this season, just as he was at Preston last year. He might well come back to bite Fergie on the arse (hopefully not literally) next season in the Premiership.

christ, just seen the Ronaldo interview. have always despised that twat Shreeves but that's disgraceful even for him. hope Fergie and the whole team shun the odious c**t now.

definitely a penalty, happened a few metres away and it couldn't have been clearer. baffled by the controversy, had a lot of time for gareth southgate as a player but he's gone massively down in my estimations this season. that Morrison tackle at the end was a joke, suspect we'll hear nothing more of it though, unlike if it had been, say, Rooney.

Ronaldo just godly atm. Gaby was fantastic today as well, Carrick very good, Giggs qg, Vidic ace. decent performance I thought given the circumstances, far too many in the crowd extremely quick to get on the team's back, infuriating really.

villa park for the semi \O/

have to say though, for some reason i'm a bit down after that. partly because i'm disgusted that it's by no means certain that we'll get tickets for the semi due to all the 'one year season ticket' ***** who probably have been to a handful of games at most, and partly because i keep getting a horrible premonition that we're going to do a Leverkusen 2002 :/

i'll return the compliment and say that was easily the best travelling support from boro we've had at OT. admittedly the 'same old man u always cheating' song is rubbish and our fans were rubbish but they were impressively loud tonight.

have to chuckle though, they allowed themselves to get carried away and start singing que sera sera and we immediately won the penalty \O/
