i think we will end up getting kuszjak or whatever his name is as he has now said he wants to join man utd. therefore he will be unhappy with them rejecting bids. unhappy player will be sold. not on the cheap obviously, but not much more than 2.5m i dont think.

so as we are keeping rossi (i think he should go on loan to the championship personally) that definitely means no new striker then.

i can't decide whether it would've been worse being a bayern fan or a milan fan

after 'that' game i had the unfortunate chance to spend the next three hours with a bunch of liverpool fans which was understandably dire. then i saw a bloke wearing a milan shirt, head down, walking past. i felt his pain.

Just thinking….why is it that this thread is a comparatively friendly place where we all get along, have constructive discussions and generally respect our fellow reds? The Liverpool thread by contract is constantly punctuated by dissent and is full of personal attacks / abuse and arguments about everything and anything.

I think it’s probably that we’ve simply got a core of level headed intelligent posters like me Nick and Saha who keep the rabble in order. The rest of you simply know your place and nod along. Because OTF doesn’t have any Liverpool posters of equivalent prestige it’s run along the lines of a toxteth playground.

Right, I missed the first half an hour of this, so I'll do MoM after I've seen more. But generally thought Carrick and Scholes ran the show. Larsson looked class, Rooney awful, Ronnie sporadically bright, Park icon_cool.gif (wonder if James celebrated the goal and sang his name icon_wink.gif?), defence alright apart from switching off in the second half a couple of times.

Saha looked encouraging when he came on as well. Henke-Louis up front next game kthxsaf

I'm in such a downbeat mood because of the Portsmouth score, having to work on Easter Monday, and the prospect of not seeing my girlfriend for the next 10 days, and NOW someone's just gone and reminded me that Leeds are out of the bottom 3 as well icon_frown.gif

And Liverpool will win the CL this year...

Rossi wants United chance

Giuseppe Rossi is desperate for the chance to prove himself a Manchester United star.

The young Italian has long been held in high regard at Old Trafford, but he has spent this season on loan at firstly Newcastle and latterly Parma.

Rossi has shown glimpses of his undoubted talent this term and wants the chance to prove his class at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson is being linked with a host of strikers, but Rossi feels there is no need to open the chequebook this summer.

"I want to come back to United not as the kid in the reserves who makes a step up, but as a player fully involved in the senior squad," Rossi told the Star on Sunday.

"United are my main priority. It's where I want to be and where I want to play."

Rossi is happy with his spell away from Old Trafford, as he added: "I needed to go out on loan to get more experience, but I want to be part of the United squad and become a first-team regular.

"You always want to be confident in your own ability. I am and I really hope I can make my park next season because I want to stay at Old Trafford for as long as I can."

yeah, that's what i was gonna say. he's probably only going to be a bit-part player for us next season anyway so the worst case scenario of us getting turned down for the permit and him having to spend another season at Porto or another european club getting regular first-team football isn't exactly a nightmare. it's far from another Celio Silva case.

right people, fixtures out on day this week i think, any thoughts on the new thread title? i'm leaning towards something simple (habit of a lifetime) and straightforward - "The Official 2007/08 Manchester United Thread - home of the Champions", something like that - but if anyone has any comedy gems they want to suggest (still think it's a travesty that this season's thread isn't called 'the the Manchester Manchester United United Thread Thread 2006/07 2006/07 - in association with the ginger prince's return' icon_frown.gif) then please do so.
