Farina
For some reason this instruction disappeared in 2014 and I believe the same is the case with 2015. It's strange, since its opposite, "pass into space", is still in the game. Is there an explanation for this?
allyc31
Doesn't Shorter Passing cover this?
Farina
Pass to feet and pass into space affect (or used to) through balls. Shorter passing affects passing length.
allyc31
I really don't want to get into an argument about his but... Can you have a through ball that is passed to feet? Surely a through ball is passed into space to allow a player to run onto it. Passing to feet when a player is in space isn't a through ball....Right? If that's the case (and i really think it is) then Shorter Passing covers this Semantics!
BayernMB
You can make a longer pass to feet... (if it succeeds as intended ) So I don't think that shorter pass and pass to feed is the same.
Farina
You may have misunderstood me. "Through balls" got renamed as "risky passes" as a player instruction with FM2014. Through balls/risky passes are not the same thing as passing length. And in any case, the pass into space TI is still there. It doesn't make sense that the TI that increases through balls is available, but not the TI that decreases through balls.
allyc31
Yeah, I think I did misunderstand you. My bad. But in that case, doesn't retain possession restrict through balls?
Farina
It doesn't. http://www.guidetofootballmanager.com/tactics/team-instructions/specific-team-instructions#retain-possession
